The Broke Legacy: Gen 4.7 (3 of 3)

Previous update: Gen 4.6.






Perhaps it wasn't exactly what Rose Mary had in mind for her music career, but her part-time job as a talent judge brought new hope to her life.
She loved it since the first day. Being back at the club she loved so much, surrounded by musicians and fun, it was like a dream come true.








Just as he had promised, Buck stayed at home to take care of Lyla those days.




Sure, the night shift was exhausting, but he didn't mind.








Knowing that his wife and therefore his daughter were happy made everything worth it.

A year went by...








Cody became an hyperactive but also shy little boy.
He liked to play by himself at his pre-school, and often spent the recess jumping and climbing trees.








Lyla looked resembled Buck more and more, with each passing day.
She was a quiet toddler who spent her time playing with her toys.
She also hated to be dirty, and cried when she peed herself.
Of course, the first thing her parents did was to potty train her.




And as for Tim, he was accepted at Academie Le Tour.
He had already said good-bye to Opal, who would be moving to Simstate University to pursue a Political Science Major.
He promised to write her everyday, and to see her at Strangetown the following winter.
He had also called Helena, and asked her to pick him up at the airport the following day. She had his room ready at the apartment they'd share the following four years.
He had everything ready... except for one thing.




"Thanks for coming, Marsha."
"I'm glad you called..."




Tim found hard to say goodbye to Marsha, so he waited until the very last day to do so.
He invited her to his place to hang out just like they used to do as kids.
And for a little while, they were back to those days.




Suddenly, Marsha sighed.
"What's up?"
"It's just... that I don't want things to change..."
"How so?"
"You are moving away while Calvin, Hobbes and I go to La Fiesta Tech. That wasn't our plan, remember? You often said we'd go to your family's dorm together and start the first alien fraternity. What happened to that plan?"




"Well, Calvin and Hobbes will start the Graslaxian Fraternity as planned. I'll do the same with Helena at Academie Le Tour. And we'll see each other during our breaks!"
"It won't be the same... it's gonna be weird not having you around..."





"I know, but sometimes things don't go as planned. I'm really looking forward to that Drama Major at Le Tour..."




"That's exactly what I don't understand! Perhaps Academie Le Tour has an amazing program in plastic arts, but you and I know that the Drama program at La Fiesta Tech is far superior! You told me so many times in the past! What made you change your mind?"




"It's just...! I wanted to try something else, Marsha! I've never been away from Strangetown! I want to see new things! Is that so hard to understand?"




"I don't believe you, Tim! That's something Rosie used to say all the time, but not you. Why the sudden change? It's as if you were running away from this place!"




In that moment, Tim lost his usually mild temper.
"I can't believe you are so dense, Marsha! You really don't see it, right? If I'm going away, it's because I don't want to hurt any of you!"
"What are you talking about?!"
"I'm in love with you!"




"WHAT?!"




He hadn't really planed it, but somehow he had finally confessed his feelings to Marsha.
The one secret he was sure he'd never tell anyone but Helena.
And odd enough, he wasn't embarrassed or ashamed anymore.
It was as if a heavy weight had finally been lifted from his shoulders.
He glanced at Marsha's radiant smile...




And everything else happened naturally...
















"You now understand, right?"- he whispered as he broke away, but still holding her close.- "I've loved you for a long time, Marsha. That's why I became a bit distant when you started dating Hobbes..."
"Tim I..."




"I know. I also love Opal, and I don't want to hurt her either. That's why I need to stay away... especially now that you know the truth. It's the right thing to do..."




"I understand."




She kissed Tim deeply, holding him closer to her body.




And she left the room without saying anything else.
Tim wouldn't see her again for several months.

It's been six months since the night I confessed my love to Marsha.




Cody's doing well in school.
After having a hard time understanding his e-mails, I suggested him to start a diary.
That's what helped me with my spelling and grammar when I was his age.








Rose Mary and Buck have adapted to their roles as parents without trouble.




Rose Mary is happy for now.
She still wants to go back to her music career, but she's waiting until Lyla is old enough to go to school to do so.
Meanwhile, she's spending her free time composing new melodies for both the musicians she's met as a judge and for the CD she knows she'll record one day with Dawson and Max.




So, you could say that the Broke family is going through peaceful times.




Me? Well,
I finally moved to Academe Le Tour.




And here I am for now.
I've just finished my first semester at college.




I miss my family and Opal deeply.
I'm really looking forward to seeing them again on the winter break.




Meanwhile, I've discovered a new love in art.
Helena's teaching me new painting techniques... among other things.




In general, my college life is being quite interesting, but that's a story for another time
For now, let's just wait and see what the future brings...

Notes:
- First, here are the stats for Gen 4 and 5 (so far).




















- Cody, Sixty and Lyla have been uploaded here.
(Spoilers for these three sims' adult appearance, though).
-My Resources page has also been updated with new custom skins, eyes, clothes, houses and a lot more :P. My downloads folder is crying.
- Tim's sudden love for art comes from the fact that he keeps rolling "Sell a Masterpiece" wants all the time. Those silly, fortune sims.

- I was expecting Rosie to have an aspiration failure since the moment she got engaged to Buck, but somehow those fears disappeared from her panel just before she got engaged and married. She finally had a "breakdown" when she had Lyla, but so far she's been a sweet mom. Helena's also a "closet family sim", because she just spent all her time with Cody. I agree with those who say that romance sims are good parents in general. Or at least, that's my experience so far with them.

- Buck and Rose Mary have two bolts of chemistry despite being opposites personality (she's outgoing and playful, while he's shy and extremely serious) and aspiration wise. That means there's still trouble in the horizon for those two...

- I had to keep a close eye on Marsha and Tim during that scene, for they fell in love after just one kiss (she still had the puppy-crush from her childhood) and went straight to Rose Mary's bed to woo hoo. I stopped the interaction, though. You are not romance sims, guys!

- Lyla is an odd creature, for she inherited recessive genes that none of her parents showed. I was amazed when she was born. She's not "gorgeous" and she inherited Buck's nose, but I think she's adorable! If Tim and X kids end up as cute as her, I'll have a hard time choosing only one heir for Gen 5 :P.

- Speaking of, I decided to use the third person POV for this Gen, to make things less confusing.

- Technically, this should be update 5.1, but I decided to name it gen 4.7, because previous gens have had 7 parts so far. Gen 5 will "officially" begin in the next update.

wow, such an amazing update!!! i can't believe all the drama, but YAY to Timmy for confessing his feelings. I think him and Marsha would have cute kids!!! And its true...Romance sims are so much fun, yet they are amazing parents.

Yup, Romance Sims make good parents... once they recover from their mental breakdown. I'm looking forward to Marsha's genes (I haven't had brown haired Brokes yet!), but let's see how ACR does things for those two.

It's not that hard, actually, because most of the time they just act according to their personalities. Most of my pics come from "normal playing" and I try to not pose them (or at least, as little as possible).

Besides, the fun part comes when I have to make up crazy stuff to "explain" what's going on in the pics. The Sims' odd actions and events, including the whole alien deal gives you plenty of room for that.

Yeah, ACR has created a mess in my game so far. I'm just thankful both Helena and Wanda find Buck "gross", otherwise I can't imagine the drama that would unfold in that house!

Marsha's always swooning over Tim, while he's just indifferent. I guess that Marsha did become a "stalker" when she grew up.

I loved the update. It looks as though things are going better for Buck and Rosie at this point and I'm glad for that. But anytime everything seems to be peaceful there's generally something lurking right around the corner isn't there?

Yay for Tim and Marsha! The Timmy/Opal Turner thing would be great for your naming theme but I'm a Tim/Marsha shipper.

Cody and Lyla are so adorable there's such a treasure of recessive genes going on there. Rosie must have Puck's Red hair as recessive. Does Lyla have elf ears?

Yup, the deal between Rosie and Buck is not over yet, although you could say they'll enjoy a peaceful time while Tim goes through college.

The naming theme will continue with Tim's first kid, so it doesn't matter if he marries Opal or not :P. But that'd be hilarious!

I'm not sure about Lyla's earsm but I don't think she has the elf ears. Let me check one of the pics from her transition to toddlerhood...

Nope, she didn't inherit the elf ears. Pity...
