Previous update: Gen 4.5.

Rose Mary barely had time to get dressed before Buck appeared behind her.
As soon as he saw her, Buck smiled and approached his girlfriend.

"Surprise!"- he said as he kissed lightly. Rose Mary noticed the sweetness that defined Buck's touch.
Now that she had experienced other lips, she understood the feelings behind her boyfriend's often "plain" gestures of affection.
Perhaps he wasn't a passionate guy in the physical sense, but he could transmit the intensity of his feelings with just a simple kiss.
Rose Mary felt her stomach turn with guilt.

"Tim asked me to come see him act. I wasn't sure I'd find you here, but Helena recognized the drummer, Max. I'd like to meet your band mates, Rosie. It's been rude of my part not having introduced myself to them."
"Eh... sure, Buck. I'd like you to meet Dawson... he's... the leader of the band."
"Are you all right, Rosie?"
"Just fine..."

Rose Mary introduced Buck to Dawson. As she glanced at her band-mate, she felt her hands shaking with fear.
The both considered their relationship as just a sexual game, but Rose Mary suspected that Dawson harbored deeper feelings for her.
What if he said something to Buck? What if Buck suspected something?
"Nice to meet you, Dawson. I'm Buck Grunt, Rosie's boyfriend."
"Oh, so you are the famous Buck. Rosie's told me a lot about you."
"Really? Well... I wished I could say the same, but I've been so busy lately that I've barely had time to talk to her on the phone. But that's going to change now..."

A few minutes later, Rose Mary and Buck were seating together as they watched Tim offer his weekly performance.

Today he was making an accurate parody of Strangetown's Mayor (and his well known sexual scandals) and the laughs from the public could be heard all around Lulu Lounge.
The club's owner was impressed by Tim's skills and often told him that he should apply for a Drama major at College.
Tim was still young to go to college, but lately he had been thinking about that path.
He was a shy guy that somehow was able to become a loud and funny person on stage.
And he really enjoyed the feeling of being someone else as a job.
Not to mention the money that he would earn.

But those plans were still a bit far away, so he had to focus in what was in front of him today.
Like his crowd, mostly composed of his family and closest friends.

As soon as he was done with the act, Marsha gave him a tight hug.
"You were awesome, Tim! I'm so proud of you!"

"Yes, he was amazing!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't think we have met before. My name is Marsha Bruening."
"You must be Tim's neighbor! I'm Opal Turner... and I'm sort of dating him..."
"No way! Hey, Tim! How come you didn't tell us you had a girlfriend!"

"Well... uh... we aren't exactly..."
"This is so great! Hey! What do you think about going on a double date with Hobbes and I? It'd be almost like the old times, Tim!"

Tim held Opal hands and smiled- "Sure, I'd like that... if it's OK with you, Opal..."
"Of course!"

The teens spent the rest of the evening dancing and having fun together.
And as good residents of Strangetown, they all took part of the popular Smustle dance.

But soon the music changed its beat, and a soft ballad was heard in the dancing square.

It was couple's time.

As she gazed into Buck's loving eyes, Rose Mary felt a strong pang of remorse inside her.
What if he had caught her with Dawson?
Rose Mary didn't want to think of the possibilities. Buck would never understand that what she was doing with Dawson didn't mean she didn't love him anymore.
She was sure he'd never forgive her...

"Hey Tim... About what Marsha said..."
"Yeah?"
"Do you really want to go out with me again? I mean... in that double date deal and..."

Tim smiled: He had finally found the second opportunity he had wished for so long.
He wasn't going to let it go.
"Of course I want to go to that double date with you... and many more, if you want to..."
"You mean...?"
"Yeah... Would you like to be my girlfriend... officially?"

"Of course! Oh my! Wait until I tell Shelby!"

"Rosie..."
"Huh?"
"Are you all right? You've been... absent the whole night."
"You think so...? It's nothing... I'm just tired."
"Yeah, I'm the same. But that's no excuse to leave you aside..."
"What are you talking about?"
"What I said in front of your friend, Dawson. I mean it, Rosie. I've let my brother's troubles and my job take over the most important thing in my life. I haven't been a good boyfriend, Rosie, and I'm so sorry for that. I promise I'll spend more time with you from now on... I already asked my boss to give me a night shift, so I can spend the afternoons at your side..."
"Oh Buck... I'm also so sorry..."
"Why?"
"I'm sorry for..."-
cheating on him? Forgetting about him? Rose Mary knew she would never confess what she'd done to Buck. She was just glad he had almost caught it that night, before she had really screwed up their relationship- "For not being there for you either. I'm also to absorbed into this band deal... I'll make an effort to be more time with you from now on..."

(And I'll never break your heart. I promise that too...)

Once the party was over, Rose Mary approached Dawson.
"Dawson... this has to end now..."
"I know... I was always aware this would happen sooner or later. Just... tell Buck to take care of you... or I'll steal you from him..."
"Come on!"
"I'm kidding, of course! But if you ever want to have fun again and Buck isn't... performing well... you know..."
"Stop it!"
"Oh, come on! That was also a joke!"

Rose Mary knew that deep inside, Dawson wasn't joking.
She just hoped she'd be able to deal with his band mate's feelings from now on...

Tank and Kristen Grunt got married less than a year after going steady.
And there was an important reason for that.
The General suspected what was it, but he didn't say anything.

At least not until Kristen gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

They named her Nancy, after Kristen's grandmother.

Meanwhile, the Broke household was ready for the imminent arrival of a new baby boy (according to the ultrasound).

Although the baby would be born any moment, Wanda still kept an eye on both her Hair Salon and her videogame projects.
She spent a long time trying them out.

In the few months after their "break up", Rose Mary and Dawson had been able to keep their distance.
They were now good friends, and Rose made sure to put a stop to Dawson's advances, which were frequent.
They spent many afternoons at the Broke house, composing new songs for their future shows.

Rose Mary's band mates soon became a frequent sight around the house.
They often had lunch with the rest of the family, and during those meetings Cosmo would tell the young musicians about his adventures as a guitarist at "La Fiesta Tech."

I wanted to form a band with Adromeda and Sirius, but those two were tone deaf.
So, I had to conform to being a single musician. I'm sure Andrew and Rose Mary inherited their music skills from me!

Buzz Grunt, another frequent visitor, often said that rock music today was loud and annoying.
"I don't get how you kids call the noise you produce music! And I can't believe you are actually motivating them to do that, Cosmo!"

There were many days in which Max Tyson visited the Broke house on his own.
Not to rehearse with Rose Mary, of course.
Helena and Max had developed an intimate relationship. Max was Helena's first woo hoo... and you could say they were now going steady.
At their own way.

But no one spent as much time with the Brokes as Buck Grunt.
Every night, just before leaving for his night shift, he visited Rose Mary for a few hours.

They were now closer than ever, and Rose Mary was thankful for that.

One month later, just as the teens returned home from school, a loud scream was heard from the kitchen.

Wanda was finally ready to give birth to her final son.

"Oh Mom! Just breathe! Don't worry! I'm gonna get Grandpa! Just wait!"

"Man! What an awful timing! I've got a concert tonight!"

With the help of Cosmo and her children, Wanda gave birth to a beautiful baby boy whose dark eyes proved once and for all his parent's alien legacy.

They named him Cody.

Wanda was exhausted from delivery, so she happily handed her newborn son to Cosmo.
"Go rest, my sweet Wanda. I'll look after my little grandson..."
"Thanks, Dad."

"Hey there, little man! I'm so glad I was able to meet you!"

"You are the proof that my race's genes and culture are still strong in my family. And I'm sure that with the help of your brothers, you'll pass the Graslaxian knowledge to your children... and in that way, my people will always live. I'm just... so sorry I won't be able to teach you the wonders of Graslax in person. I'm sorry I won't see you grow up, Cody..."

"Actually, if there's something I'd like you to remember... is that I love you, little guy. I always will... Your Grandfather will always look out for you...."

"Grandpa? Are you all right?"
"Huh? Oh, Helena! Sure, I'm fine!"
"Really? You sound like if you were crying..."

"Crying? Me? Nah... I just got emotional. That's what having a grandchild does to an old guy like me. You'll understand when you get older."

"But now that you are here, I want to ask you to take good care of Cody. I want you to be a good example for him, and I'm specially counting on you, Helena."

"Sure, Grandpa! But there's no need to say that! We'll take good care of him together, right?"

But Cosmo knew that he wouldn't be there to see Cody as a grown man.
He wasn't even sure he'd see him take his first steps.
Deep inside, he knew his days were finally reaching their end.

But he wasn't worried about his youngest grandson.
Just as he had take good care of his siblings, he knew that Tim, Rose Mary and Helena would do a great job.

Cody was a lucky boy...

... for he was born in the middle of a close and loving family.
The kind of family Cosmo's father, Beau, had founded so many years before.
Cosmo was glad he'd been able to keep his father's legacy strong for so long.

"Congratulations, Broke! A new Grandson!"
"Thanks, Buzz. How are you doing with Nancy?"
"Just right. She's the most adorable girl ever. I'm so proud of her! Lyla would be thrilled to see her too..."
"Yeah, Bella would have liked to meet Cody too..."

"Oh, look! That's a shooting star..."
"It really is one... heh... this reminds me of an old Graslaxian tale P.T. Smith told me when I was a boy..."
"Really?"

"Yeah... he often said to me that stars are the vehicles of our souls. Even after we leave our body and our home planet... we get to travel forever among the stars, free. A shooting star means that the soul of a loved one has come to pay us a visit..."
"Hmmm... perhaps Bella is here to see Cody..."
"Perhaps Lyla is here to see how you are behaving, Grunt!"
"Don't be a smart ass, Broke!"

"Well Buzz, I think I'm going inside. It's been a tiring day, and my back is killing me. Good night..."

"Go rest, my good friend.
You deserve it..."

Dad... Mom...
Henry...
Icaro and Molly...
I miss you all...

Andrew...

Wanda...

Tamara...

And my little Natalia...

My loved family...

We are still together, Dad.
Bella, our children are happy.
And our grandchildren are gonna be all right.
I'm sure about it... and compared to that, no piece of knowledge seems as important.

... Cosmo...

Bella?
Bella, is that you?

Cosmo Broke...

You know why I'm here...
"Yes, you've finally come to pick me up..."
You knew this day would come... you must accept that.
"I'm aware of that. And I'm ready to go..."

I'm gonna miss them so much...
Who's gonna be there to guide them?

Your memories and teachings are the only guide they'll ever need.
There is no need to worry, Cosmo Broke.
Come with me, for your loved one has been waiting for you for so long...

I'm coming Bella... I'll never leave you again...

Let's go...

"Grandpa? Dinner is ready!"

"GRANDPA?!"

Rose Mary's terrified scream was loud enough to make Helena run upstairs.
And as soon as she saw the remains of her grandfather, she broke down in tears.
"No! No! Grandpa! You... you can't be gone!"

Rose Mary didn't shed a tear.
She decided to be strong and go downstairs, to inform the rest of the family of her Grandfather's passing.

Tim refused to believe his Grandfather was gone until he reached his room.

"Damn it, Grandpa! Cody needs you! Why...?!"

Cosmo's death shattered the good mood Cody's birth had brought to the house.
It was ironic.

And while the rest of the family mourned their Grandfather, Rose Mary finally allowed herself to cry in the kitchen.

Buck left his job as soon as he got the phonecall from Rose Mary.

"Let's go inside, Rosie. You are freezing..."

He prepared her a meal.

And held her hand as she cried for her Grandfather.

Eventually, Cody's crying caught their attention.

"I'm sorry, little bro. Buck... I'd like you to meet my brother... Cody Broke..."

"Hi there, little guy!"

There was no need for comforting words, for Buck's actions were enough to let Rose Mary know she'd never be alone.
She'd made the right decision... and she vowed to never make another mistake with Buck.

She just hoped she'd be able to do so...

Cosmo Broke was buried in his garden the following morning, just before sunrise.

They held a small service in his honor.
Only his children and grandchildren were there.

As she glanced at her family, Wanda remembered how serene her father had looked at Beau's funeral.

How warm his words had been...

How safe he had made her feel, despite the huge loss she was mourning.

He'd never cheer her up again.
She'd never listen to his loud voice and his crazy tales.
"I'm... I'm sorry, Dad. I know I'm your heir... I know I need to say something to the family but... I just can't do it right now..."

And in that moment, just as the sun rised, a lone figure entered the small cementary.
It was Buzz Grunt, the Graslaxian's former enemy.
He looked at Cosmo's family and smiled.

"You did a good job, old friend. Rest in peace..."
Those were the only words the Broke family heard.
There was no need for something else...

Cosmo Broke
Gen 2 Heir.

Notes:

- As you can see, Generation Two is finally over.

- Cosmo lived around 100 days, if you keep in mind that I fed him a lot of Elixir. His "official" dying age was 82 days. I stopped giving him elixir as soon as Wanda got pregnant. Cosmo was the sim I've played with the longest (since May 2007), so it's still a bit odd to go to the Broke house and not have him around.

- I’ve never seen my Sims cry so much for a dead family member. Helena and Tim just couldn’t stop crying when Cosmo died. Those pics were all free will.

- At the end of his life, Cosmo had max all 7 skills, had a bronze Garden bagde and had completed four LTW: Top of Medicine, Top of Education, Top of Criminal and Top of Science Careers. I wanted him to roll the Max All Skills LTW, but he rolled Medicine again when he became an elder. Despite what the story says, he never retired.

- By the way, Cody's arrival was the result of ACR's Risky Woo Hoo feature. I'm so glad I didn't end this legacy, for Cody is adorable! He's gonna be a "Gen 4.5 Heir", for he's gonna be the link between Gens 4 and 5. Actually, his plot will be related more to the Gen 5 children than his sisters and brother.

- Wanda got pregnant again just a few hours after Cody was born. That pregnancy was suspended, because she's only four days away from Elderhood and it's gonna be odd enough with Cody alone.

- This update took so long because I took most of the pictures at Community lots. Before this Legacy, I'd barely visited them. I didn't even know there was a cyber-café at Downtown!

- Tim's acting career came from his random wants to earn "some money" when he was at Community lots. Therefore, I had him Freestyle for tips. I've never had a sim with the Show Biz career, so I guess that's gonna be interesting ^^.

- By the way, the whole Opal Turner/ Timmy Turner deal was a mere coincidence. Just like the fact that he was babysat as a toddler by a Nanny named Vicki (Horwitz). It seems like my Sims are Fairly Odd Parents fans too! :P

- Yup, I changed my default skins. I'm currently using RenSims Circonflex V2 skins. They are quite nice, a bit darker than the Louis ones... although they make my male teens look a bit... feminine.

- I'm missing Tim and Helena's stats again, but this update was already a monster (350 pics in total), so that's gonna wait until next time.

- The pics of Tank and Kristen were taken when I was playing the Grunt lot (I was a bit bored with the Brokes) and wanted to see how their kids would look like. Ripp is currently “lost” at the Sim Bin, but be sure he’ll be back in future updates. I’m not gonna have the General miss another family member.

- Next update will mark the debut of Gen 5! I've almost caught up with my pictures! I'm waiting for Free Time before playing Gen 5, for I'd love to try the "lifetime friends" and "hobbies" features with them.

- See you next time!
