The Broke Legacy: Gen 3.7 (Part 1)

Previous update: Gen 3.6.





Despite the sorrow we still felt after Grandpa's death, things slowly went back to normal.
Life goes on, after all, and Grandpa would have liked us to continue with our lives and futures.
Puck returned to his studies with increased vigor.
This year he was taking Advanced Astronomy and Child Psychology as his extra-curricular classes.
Really... what was the point in that?




He also finally got in shape for that play.
He was just glad he wouldn't have to spend time in that "miserable machine" anymore.




Saturn continued with his life of wooing as many girls as possible.
Arcadia was his favorite girlfriend (perhaps because she was closer when he was in the mood for some "sexy time" as he always said).




I guess his fame as La Fiesta Tech's biggest Casanova extended through the campus, because he soon got several admirers.
The Cow Mascot was especially fond of him.




But Saturn wasn't interested!




Arcadia didn't seem to miss Andrew.
She had already found a new enemy.
Marcel Gilscarbo, another senior like her.
They HATED each other!




On the other hand, Kevin was head over heels in love with him.




As for me... well...
A few weeks after Grandpa's death, I started finding small gifts at the Dorm's entrance.
The first one was a single rose with a card attached.
It didn't say who was it from, but the text was so sweet!




Romance bloomed between us
As this single flower shows
And as I think of you, my sweet
My longing for you grows




When Sterling came to the Dorm later that day, I literally squeezed him!





-"Thank you so much for that rose, Sterling! What a sweet detail!"
- "Uh... what? Uh yeah... you are welcome..."
Sterling was visibly confused (and later angered) by my "present".
Therefore, he wasn't the one who sent it to me.
But then... who was it?




For the following six months, I found flowers at the Dorm's entrance every single morning. No exceptions.
They were all directed to me, and none of the cards said who was the sender.
But each one of them had a lovely message.
I never knew two sims like us
Cold share such happy hours
Each lovely second’s memory
Smells sweeter than these flowers




I'll admit this situation had me on Cloud Number 9.
This was sooooo romantic!




-"Do you have any idea who could be sending these flowers, Saturn?"
- "Ummm... maybe is that shy boy from our pottery class?"
- "He's gay, Saturn..."
- "Uh... right..."




- "Whoever this is, I'd like to meet this guy too! What a great idea, wooing girls with cheesy poetry! How come I never thought about that?!"

A couple weeks later, something odd happened at our dorm.
A girl I'd never seen before irrupted inside our Dorm, looking for Puck.




Puck was so confused.
Who was this girl? And why was she in his room that late at night?
The oddest part was that she even handcuffed him!
What was going on?




Before we could do anything to stop this madness, that girl took Puck outside.
A black limo was waiting for them.




Saturn and I could barely sleep that night.
But then, Puck appeared early the following morning, wearing some kind of uniform.
-"We were worried sick, man! What the hell happened?"




Puck said that he wasn't allowed to tell us about it.
He made us promise we wouldn't tell a soul.
What really happened was that his friendly streak made him quite popular among a certain group of students.
These guys were part of a Secret Society, which had a huge influence among campus.
And they asked Puck to become part of their group.




The Secret Society had a especial headquarter, whose location was, of course, a secret.
(And Puck never told us where it was!)
They had uniforms, incredible machines and books for studying.
They even had a special handshake!




They even had access to La Fiesta Tech's electronic archives.
So they taught Puck to hack his grades.
He thought it'd be easy
And that way he'd have more free time to spend with us.




But he was caught.
And the police took his computer away.
Puck never tried that again.

As the days went by, the flowers and cards became a familiar sight at our dorm.
Kevin and Marcel often joked and bet about the amount of roses I'd get the following morning.
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind.




Just as we finished our fifth semester, we went to Strangetown to attend Andrew's wedding.




It was a beautiful ceremony: Andrew looked so happy.




And right then, just as I'd always done in every single wedding I had gone in my life, I imagined the kind of words I'd tell to my loved one.
Perhaps he was closer than I imagined?
Sterling had often said he wanted a family...




And just like every Wedding I had attended, there were kisses, best wishes for the Newlyweds, lots of champagne... and not enough bathrooms.




And let's not forget the cake, of course.




Which Andrew smashed on his bride's face... just like the gentleman he is!




The guys and I left to La Fiesta Tech several hours later, leaving my brother and his new wife alone...

The flowers and love cards continued during the second half of my junior year.
O, take the sense, sweet, of my innocence;
Love takes the meaning in love's conference.
I mean that my heart unto yours is knit;
So that but one heart we can make of it.
But my secret admirer still didn't want to reveal himself.




One day, I went to La Fiesta Tech's gym to work out for a little while.




But as soon as I was finished, an awful storm covered the Campus.
The rain was so strong... and I didn't have an umbrella!
Therefore, I had to seek cover in the Gym's cafeteria.




To my surprise, Puck was also there.
- "I wanted to go swimming, because the next play will have a scene underwater, so I need to practice my breathing. But as you can see, the climate didn't let me do that! Now that we're stuck here... would you like a coffee? I invite!"




- "Thanks, Puck! I'm so glad to find you here! I thought I'd die from boredom."




Puck and I chatted for a couple hours.
The same stuff as usual: Saturn's girlfriend, Andrew's imminent paternity, how much TV sucks these days...




But then, Puck became quiet...
- "Hermia and I broke up..."- he finally admitted.

I... I don't know exactly when or how things started to change between us.
She was so glad to see me when I arrived to her dorm.




Everything felt as comfortable as always.
I was so happy to see her... I'd missed her so much...
Especially her touch...




- "Hey Puck! I'd like you to meet someone! He's also a History major like me!"




- "This is Lysander..."




Lysander was a friendly guy. Quite intelligent and we got along pretty well.
Hermia, Lysander and I went out together every night. They showed me everything around the Campus and had a lot of fun together.




I noticed that Hermia and Lysander often left the room together.
She said they were in the middle of a huge project that they had to finish before the break was over.
Hermia has always been too worried about her grades, since Elementary School.




Therefore, I tried to make the most of the few minutes we had alone.




- "Do you like Académie Le Tour?"
- "Sure! It's a beautiful campus and it's Law School is excellent. Perhaps I could ask back at La Fiesta if I could study a semester here... It'd be great, right?"
- "If you say it..."




- "Hermia... there's something I've been wanting to ask you... Well... why did you stop replying to my e-mails? I wrote to you every day and suddenly... you stopped. Did I say something wrong in my letters?"




- "Of course not, Puck! It's just that... there's a lot of stuff going on here. I have a lot of work to do and I'm so tired at night that I can barely read my e-mail. But I've read each one of your letters, and I'm so glad you are doing well at La Fiesta Tech..."




I realized it was unfair of me to be so demanding. I... I had also forgotten about my girlfriend sometimes, with the load of work I had and my extra-curricular classes.
So, I decided to make it up with Hermia, and prepared a very special night, just for the two of us...
- "Say, Juliet, have you seen Hermia?"
- "I think she's at the terrace, Puck, but..."
- "Thanks!"




- "Hey Hermy! Grab your bag because I'm taking you to the best dinner this side of..."




My heart was broken by the sight at found at the terrace.
Hermia was kissing someone... and it wasn't me.




I ran inside, numb from what had just happened.
Hermia went inside a few minutes later. She hadn't realized I had seen her with Lysander.
- "Hey, Pucky! Come here swee..."




- "Ju... just leave me alone, Hermia!"
- "What's wrong, Puck?"




- "Don't... don't try to play dumb with me Hermia! I saw you... with him. What happened, Hermia? I thought you loved me..."




Hermia sighed...
- "I was waiting for the right moment to tell you, Puck. I... I still love you but... what I feel for you has changed... I didn't plan this... I waited for you these last two years but then Lysander appeared and I fell in love with him. Times changes everything, Puck... and I didn't want to tell you by e-mail..."




- "I'm so sorry, Puck... I wish things were just as they were back when we were teens but... I guess life is unpredictable. I'll always love you, Puck. You are my best friend, right?"




- "So I guess it's over..."
- "I'm sorry Puck..."




I didn't say anything else.
I just left the dorm and didn't look back.
I went back to Veronaville for the rest of the break.

- "I had a feeling this was going to happen, Wanda. I knew it as soon as her e-mails stopped. But I didn't want to believe it... Perhaps if I had stayed at Veronaville I wouldn't have lost her..."




- "Why did it take you this long to tell me this?"
- "I didn't want to bother you..."
- "You're such an idiot, sometimes, Puck Summerdream! Saturn, Andrew and I are your friends! This is the reason you were feeling so depressed last year, right? You shouldn't have to get through these alone! You helped me when I lost Grandpa! I can do the same for you!"

After Puck confessed me about his break up with Hermia, things felt... better between us.
"Promise me there will be no more secrets between us, Puck. From now on you'll tell me the truth!"
- "I promise..."




- "Hey! The storm is over!"
- "What a beautiful night!"
- "Perfect for a nocturnal swimming session!"
- "What?"
- "Come on, Wanda! It'll be fun!"




At the risk of being reprimanded by the janitor, Puck and I went swimming for a couple of hours.




And once we got tired, we decided to stargaze for a little while...
- "Say, Wanda?"




- "Yeah?"




- "Thanks for listening. It meant a lot to me..."
- "No problem, pal. No problem..."

The following day, I got a new letter from my secret admirer.
This time, he was finally asking to meet me in person!




That night, I was waiting for him in the Love Maze Garden.
Was this just a stupid risk I was taking?




But then, I saw someone approaching me, and his soft voice made my heart beat...
Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.




"I promised there wouldn't be any more secrets between us, Wanda.
So here I am... ready to expose my most intimate secret to you."




"I love you, Wanda.
And I think I've felt that way for a long time...
I'm aware that you already have someone in your life... but I just wanted to let you know this..."




I didn't let him say anything else.
I jumped into his arms, just like I did when I first saw him back in our Freshman year.




And with our very first real kiss, our love story began.

When Puck told Arcadia that we were now a couple, that bitch got so angry.
-"What are you doing with that idiot's sister? You deserve something better!"




But Puck and I couldn't care less about what people said.




We were both in the middle of our fairy tale.
And there was no one else in that tale but us.




You may wonder what happened to Sterling.
Well, I called him the following day and confessed to him that I was in love with Puck.
Sterling is a good man. He understood everything and wished us happiness.
I guess that in the end I didn't deserve him...




Things between Puck and I moved way too fast.




I'm pretty sure Grandpa would have told me to keep things a little bit slower.
That we had all the time in the world to get to know each other.




The truth is that Puck and I had been friends for almost six years.
And I had loved him every second of that time.




And I'd love him every second from the rest of my life...

Things had not only changed between Wanda and Puck.
Back at the Broke household, there was a small revolution going on.
Tamara had just turned thirteen.




And while she still kept some of the trait that characterized her as a young girl...




She was now experiencing new things...




Like her first love, a young boy named David Gibson.




Natalia was a smart girl who didn't get as good grades as she wished.




Perhaps if she spent more time studying, instead of playing with her toys and videogames, her grades would be better.




Andrew was currently working as an Entertainment Attorney.
His good looks and extroverted personality made him perfect for dealing with the paparazzi and reporters of his famous clients.




His wife, Autumn, was currently expecting their first child.
Andrew had literally "scored" on their wedding night!




Things at the Broke household seemed peaceful... but that was only a facade.
There was a small one-side war brewing between two of it's members.




Autumn disliked her father-in-law.
She considered his experiments and crazy alien tales as a bad influence for her husband's career.
She was also working hard as a high-class executive.
She didn't want her co-workers to realize that she was related to a freak show like Cosmo.




And as her baby grew, she was also becoming more worried.
She wanted her child to grow in a healthy and normal environment.
Not in this mad house!




So, she often ignored Cosmo.
She tried to pretend he didn't even exist.




But Cosmo Broke was no fool.
And he knew that something wrong was going on with Autumn.
- "I think Autumn hates me..."




- "Oh, sweetie! Don't say such non-sense! Why would she hate you? You are a great husband and father, and I'm sure you'll also be a good grandfather!"




Cosmo didn't comment his concerns with anyone else at the Broke household.
Perhaps he was just imagining things!
Autumn and Andrew looked so happy, after all!




Finally, the nine months were up...




And Autumn gave birth to a girl who looked just like her.
They named her Sarah Broke.




Autumn spent the following months taking care of her precious baby girl.
She didn't want anyone else to look after her.




Especially her Alien father-in-law.
She only let him touch her in her presence.




When Andrew turned 25, they threw a small party in his honor.




For some unknown reason, Cosmo acted especially weird that day.
He often asked Andrew to not leave the house and to stay away from the windows.




Autumn was tired of Cosmo's idiocy.
-"I want you to stay away from Sarah! I don't want you to tell her those stupid Greslazian tales or to fill her head with all this crazy non-sense! I'm sure Andrew would be a more stable man if it weren't for you! I'm gonna protect my family from your influence!"




Cosmo was in shock.
He didn't know what to say to her...




Autumns words hurt him, of course.
In his almost 50 years, he had never been mistreated because he were an alien.
Now he knew how the early Graslaxians like P.T. Smith had felt back then...




Natalia and Tamara cheered their father up.




While Andrew had a nasty discussion with his wife.
- "How DARE you talk to my father like that?!"




- "I was just telling the truth! The truth that no one in this family has ever admitted! I'm pretty sure this whole alien stuff has been a curse to your family, Andrew. I know your Grandfather would had had a better life if it weren't for his green charge!"
- "Autumn! I...!"
- "And if you know what is best for our daughter, you'll keep her away from this non-sense!"
- "I'll NEVER do that!"
- "Then I guess I'll have to keep her away from you too. You might be a lawyer, but I also have good connections..."




Andrew was torn between the love he had for his daughter and his family.
And he knew he had to make a decision sooner or later...




So, on the day of Sarah's first birthday...




Andrew informed Cosmo that he was moving to Weirdsquare, the neighbor town where he was born.
- "I love you, Dad. And I'll visit often... I promise... but I'm doing this for the sake of my family... I hope you forgive me..."




Cosmo didn't say anything else.
He stood up, went outside, and hugged Sarah tightly.
"This will always be your home, my sweetheart."




And that same night, Andrew left the Broke household forever...

My Sims don't know a thing about jealousy! I tried to set things up, so Sterling would catch Wanda and Puck together, throw a fit and then there'd be drama.

Do you know what he did when he "saw" them? He approved the relationship! Yep, he nodded and everything.

And that's also what Puck did when he found Hermia and Lysander together. He was all smiles! If it weren't for that Hula hack, that scene wouldn't have made sense! :)

Hehe, I just read the play (in English; I'm in Spanish III right now but it was hard enough in English to read, much less Spanish for me ^_^') last year, so I definitely caught the nice references you made! =DD (Fits, too, with Puck and everybody in the Summerdream (note the name XD) family being a reference to the play; the whole town of Veronasville is a reference to various Shakespearean plays itself XDD)

I haven't read Romeo and Juliet yet. I want to, though, but haven't had the time (or the experienced mind to be able to comprehend Shakespeare, even though I'm a junior in English III honors. XD).

Andrew made a cameo in my new legacy last night. I'm playing generation three, and my heiress is completely enamored with him. He seems to enjoy playing hard to get! It took forever for him to warm up to her. She's a Romance sim, so I think she'll be using him as her booty call/potential sperm donor.

Either Kennedy Cox or Benjamin Long once came up to one of my favorite Sims (now lost) and out of the blue, just argued with and insulted her. She didn't fight back because she also had 9/10 nice points. I was so pissed I boolpropped a satellite onto his head.

BTW your legacy reminds me of an excellent non-legacy story called "The Gravity of Being Green" on the Exchange, which also involves aliens in Strangetown who deal with intolerance.

Actually, that was the very first time I got a Sim into the Secret Society... and I wasn't even trying!

The only thing I did was to friend as many students and dormies as possible. Because Puck was a popularity sim, I had to do it to keep him happy :).

I've read that once you are friends with three members of the society, they'll pick you up and take you to their "home". Some of them wear the uniform at community lots, though. I had no idea my Sim was living with two members until he was accepted!

I hate to butt in with a question not directly related to the story (which I love, by the way!), but I think I use the same default alien skin as you and have been having lots of trouble finding information about how to fix the eyes...Do you have a default one downloaded, and if so where can I get it? I only actually have one alien in my game so far, but his eyes completely don't look right. He hasn't had any children yet, so I don't know what alien eyes will look like on anyone else just yet. But his eyes definitely don't look like they're supposed to.

Ok, I hate doing this but I've gone through your posts a couple of times because I thought I saw it in the comments but I haven't found it. Where did you say you got Wanda's hair from? The one with the pink strips in it.

Also you mentioned someone pointed you to a tutorial to add borders and what not with photobucket (I suck at photobuket) and I can't find it either. I hope this wasn't too annoying. If you can't find it that's fine too. ^_^ Thanks for your time.
