The Broke Legacy: Gen 3.5
Sep. 14th, 2007 09:34 pm
Previous update: Gen 3.4.
Warning:This is a MEGA update with 175 pictures. Yeah, I wanted to catch up with all the pictures I had in my folder, otherwise this Generation will last forever. If it's too large to handle, please let me know and I'll split it in two.

As you may imagine, the entire family was thrilled with the arrival or our baby sister.

Dad just couldn't believe his luck. He adored Tamara since the very first moment he saw her.

It was so weird to have a baby at home. Neither Andrew nor I knew exactly how to take care for Tamara.
But we tried our best.
Tamara quickly became the little Princess of our home.

Well... I'm afraid the former Princess resented that.

Tamara really acted like a real Princess.
She was veeeery sensitive and cried a lot.
We had to tip-toe around the house to not bother her while she slept.

Yeah, that side of having a baby sisters wasn't as fun as I imagined.

Tamara had all of us pretty busy.
Mom found a job as a Projectionist, and Dad was helping Grandpa at the Education Ministry.
He was excited about his new position: He wanted to include a bit of Graslaxian History in the regular school programs.

So, we had to hire my old nanny, Vicky, to aid us with Tamara.
She did a great job...

... despite my sister's constant crying and screaming. Yikes!

With that problem out of the way, I could concentrate in a really important matter.
And I'm not talking about school or the next Videogame Convention.
Nope! I'm talking about BOYS!
I really, really wanted to have boyfriend, so I called Dad's former co-worker Angie Horowitz.
She told me she'd meet me outside my place that afternoon, ready to introduce me to the Love Of My Life! :)

Of course, I got ready for such a special occasion.
And I've heard many times that Gentlemen prefer Blondes, and...

... Damn it! What an awful time for pimples!

Anyway, I met Angie a few hours later.
I quickly gave her all my savings.
Yeah, Uncle Icaro would think that's stupid, but True Love is Priceless!

I could hardly contain my excitement as she invoked my One True Love with her magic powers!

And that's how I met Abhjeet.
Errr... I didn't exactly dig that pale, Draco Malfoy look.
But hey! The shiny ball said he's my Beloved One! So I could live with that! :)

I quickly made my move, telling him everything I knew about videogames! Boys love games after all!

But to my utter surprise, he wasn't interested in me AT ALL!

What?! I've just paid a LOT of money to get him!
There was no way I'd be rejected yet again!

Thank goodness I had a plan B.
Graslax's #8.5 Potion, also known as the Libidinal Soup.
Uncle Andromeda was the master preparing it. He told me it was the secret recipe for most of his recipes.
And he gave me one bottle for my seventeenth birthday (and made me promise I wouldn't tell Dad, of course!).

The potion worked like a charm!
Abhjeet couldn't take his eyes from me.
We spent the rest of our date fooling around, but we didn't do serious.
And when the potion's effects wore off... we were back at the beginning.
Well... we were now friends... but nothing more.
At least he let me give him a much needed make-over.

Pity...
He was quite cute!

But we both knew that there wasn't that... spark between us.
We still dated a little, though.
We both loved to have fun and to go out.
Perhaps that's why Angie brought us together.
"You are a great girl, Wanda. Sadly, you are not my style. I'm more into dark-haired Goths..."

Dark-haired Goths?
Does that mean that he was interested in my Mother?!
Nah, that's just stupid!
Nonetheless, I went back to my original color.
I also let my hair grow a little longer.
Perhaps with time... Abhjeet and I would become more than friends!

So, I went back to my one true love: Videogames.
I was a very popular gamer now!
The top gamer of Strangetown!

I wasn't the only Broke who had no luck at love.
Andrew's only source of romance were the pink novels I read as a kid.
Of course, I didn't say anything when I caught him reading them.
Despite how much he said he hated them back then!

Other than us, the rest of the Brokes were having great love lives.
Mom and Dad still woo hooed like bunnies all the day.
I often wondered if Mom secretly bought #8.5 Potion from Uncle Andromeda.
She was ALWAYS in the mood for sex.

Grandpa and Lucy obviously were an old-fashioned couple.
They spent long afternoons together, just remembering the good old days.

Uncle Icaro and Aunt Kendal were also madly in love.

They had a very nice house at Strangetown's outskirts, where Uncle Icaro still worked on his compositions.
He was now a concert pianist.

My cousin Isabel was now 13.
She was gorgeous! Just like Aunt Kendal!

But she wasn't an only child anymore.

Kendal gave birth to a healthy boy a year before Tamara's birth.

They named him Michael, and he was now two years old.

After living together for sixteen years, Uncle Andromeda and Aunt Molly finally got married two years ago.
Mom often said she wished she'd been alive back then to attend the ceremony.

Aunt Molly had a very special surprise for their Wedding night...

They named her Venus.
She was almost three years old now.

Cousin Halley had just turned 14.
And she already had a boyfriend.
That's NOT fair!

Anyway, they were all invited to Tamara's birthday party.

And she grew into such a cute toddler!

Aww!

But don't let her cute looks fool you, for Tamara was an obnoxious little brat.

She was even worse now! I almost missed her baby days!

Good thing that by now, Dad was already an expert preparing the Graslaxian formula.

Perhaps the formula's components mixed well with Tamara's alien genes, because it calmed her down.
At least enough to be taught to talk.

And soon, what I had feared for a little while became true..
Andrew left for College!
I'd miss him so much!
He promised to write to me often.
And I knew he would...
____________________

Hey, Wanda!
I'm sorry for the lack of e-mails in these last few weeks.
The finals were brutal! I didn't sleep for almost two weeks!
Yeah, yeah... I'm sure what you're thinking.
That I've become a nerd, right?
Well Wanda, I need to think about my future.
And if there's something that Dad and Grandpa taught me, is the importance of a solid education.
I'm still not sure what I want to major at...

But that doesn't mean I'm not having fun!
You'll love it here, Wanda.
This dorm is great! There's even a new generation arcade in the cafeteria!
I'm sure you'll be the best player once you get down here.

Heh! I can see you right now, little sister.
I'm sure you are still practicing your gaming skills everyday, right?

Now, I know you'll just think of this as my usual "boring" bib brother babble, but please, study hard.
You are a smart girl, Wanda. And you have a lot of potential.
Please don't waste it...

I... I'm still shocked by what you told me on your last e-mail.
Yeah, I've already called them, and I can hardly believe it.
Mom's pregnant again...

Then again, it's not that hard to believe now that I think about it.
Mom and Dad were sure looking for it when they woo hooed that much.
I... I'm still laughing from that story you told me the other day.
When they took you to the local mall, to buy a new videogame.

How Mom was "looking" for some comfortable maternity clothes and...

How Dad followed her to the changing room....

Man! No wonder she's pregnant again!
I'm sorry you felt so embarrassed, Wanda.
I know I'd had been like that if I had been there...

Well Wanda, I guess I'll see you very soon.
Please take good care of Tamara, our parents, grandpa, Lucy and yourself.
With love,
Andrew.

Between Tamara's needs, all the school-work from my Senior Year and the future arrival of our new sister, I barely had time to go out with my friends.
I almost didn't have time to play games anymore.
But when a couple of girls from school invited me for a night out with them, I couldn't say no!
Dad was so sweet! He even drove me to the little restaurant.

And once there, I waited for hours.
And hours.
And hours...
Until I realized that they must had forgotten our meeting.
Ugh... what a mess...

I was about to call home and ask Dad to pick me up, when I saw him.

A red-haired boy, sitting all alone at the bar.
Perhaps his friends also forgot about him?

He must had felt me watching him, because he suddenly turned to me.
He was the... oddest guy I'd ever seen.
Not only because of the strange marks on his face or his pointy ears.
His smile was so bright and cheerful, almost mischievous.
He winked at me.
I stood up.

"Excuse me, have me met previously?"
"I don't think so..."
"Yeah... I've never seen you at school."

"That's because I'm not from Strangetown. I come from Veronaville, a small city a hundred miles from here."
"Veronaville... I think I've heard that name before... Oh! That's right! My Grandfather lived there when he was a teenager. He worked at Academie Le Tour."
"Yah, that's a pretty important college there."
"Please excuse the question but... what are you doing all alone and so far away from your city?"

"There's a long story behind my answer. And I'm glad you asked, perhaps you can help me!"
"Uh... sure!"
"My name is Puck Summerdream, it's a pleasure to meet you Miss..."
"Wanda Broke."
"Wanda... Wow! Your eyes are..."
"Weird, I know..."
"I didn't mean it like that! Your eyes are special! If all the people in this town are like you, then I guess I'm on the right track to find my answers."
"Uh... what are you talking about?"

"Why don't we leave this boring place? I'm hungry! Do you know where we could find some great burgers?"
"Sure!"
"Then let's go! I'll tell you my story there..."
_______________________
Puck was unlike any guy I'd ever met.
He talked too much and too fast, so it was a bit hard to understand him at first.
But soon he told me his complete story...

"This is the first time I've ever left Veronaville. I've lived there all my life with my parents, Oberon and Titania, and Bottom, my little sister.
We might seem like an ordinary family and in most aspects we are indeed one. But there's something that put us apart from all the other families in my city.
None of us are related by blood.

My parents met when they were mere children.
They grew up together at Veronaville's Orphanage.
When my father was 8, he was adopted by the Summerdream family.
My mother was adopted a few months later by the Fae family.

Despite living in different homes, my parents never stopped seeing each other.
They fell in love when they were teens and then, once they were old enough to leave their adoptive homes, they moved in together.

They'd been living together for a few years when they decided to start their family.
But they didn't just want to have a baby.
They wanted to give someone the same kind of love they had received from their adopted parents.
So, they visited their old Orphanage.
There was a little, red-haired toddler who had been dropped there a few weeks before.
The only thing the social worker knew about the little boy's parents was that they weren't from Veronaville.
Of course, that little boy was me.
I was adopted by Oberon and Titania Summerdream when I was just one year old.

I can't complain about my childhood.
My parents loved me deeply and gave me everything I wanted.
They even tried to give me the best education, inscribing me in Veronaville's most important schools.
And there's where I met them.
The Capp and Monty families.
The Monty kids often made fun of me.
I was different from all the other kids.
My ears were pointy and my nose was too big.
I often felt embarrassed among them... so much that I even started covering my face with a thick coat of makeup.
Perhaps if I looked like something else, the kids would accept me.
As you can see, I still do it today. It's become a part of me.
My parents thought it was cute and followed my trend.
Yeh... most people think we Summerdreams are weird.

My parents adopted Bottom when I was 12.
She's 7 years old now.

The years went by and I grew up.
And when I was 15, I confessed my feelings to the lovely Hermia Capp.
She's the sweetest, most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
I always had a crush on her.

She returned my feelings!
I was so glad! And so lucky!
The kindest girl in Veronaville loved me!

Yeah, Hermia was unlike the rest of the Capp kids.
For some old reason, the Capp and the Monty families hate each other.
No matter the situation or time, if these two families are together, be sure there'll be violence around.

The irony is that Romeo Monty and Juliette Capp are in love.
Hermia is deadly afraid of the day the truth is revealed.
She thinks there'll be war in Veronaville.

We might be "weird" and different, but at least us Summerdreams are a peaceful family.
Anyway!
Two years ago, Dad finally asked Mom to marry him.

They got married that same night.

And it was such a wonderful night!
It was as if everyone had been shot by Cupid's arrows!

I was so happy (for my parents and Hermia), that for the first time in my life, I didn't mind the usual violence in Veronaville.

Mom and Dad were busy in their wedding night, because soon enough, my Mom got pregnant.
The family was excited by these news!

Mom gave birth to a healthy boy who looked just like Dad.
They named him Demetrius.

And in that moment... things changed.
For my whole life, I never wondered about my biological parents.
I was just content knowing that Oberon and Titania were my parents. End of story.
But as I watched Mom taking care of Demetrius... I questioned my origin.
Why... why was I abandoned as a toddler.
Did my real Mother loved me like Titania loved her baby?
What happened?
Where I was from?

I contacted the Orphanage.
I asked them for any kind of info that would lead me to my origins.

"It's not that I don't consider you my father, Dad. I'm... I'm just curious about my origin. Why are we so different from the other people at Veronaville?
There must be a reason..."

Finally, when Demetrius turned one...

I got my answers.
The Orphanage studied all the records related to us Summerdreams and had found an odd coincidence.
All biological our parents had cited Strangetown as their birthplace.
Perhaps we were all born there?

So, at the start of this Winter Break, I packed my things and said good bye to my parents.
"I'll be back soon, Mom. I promise I'll find an answer to this enigma..."

"I know you will. Please take good care of yourself, Beau."

And that's how I ended here, Wanda.
I'm pretty sure my biological family is from Strangetown.
And just by looking at your eyes, I think my theory might be correct.
The people around here might seem weird to the guys back at Veronaville.
But somehow... I already feel at home around here...

That winter break, I spent most time with Puck.
Of course, we visited the Town Hall and the Orphanage.
We asked Aunt Molly to check the Strange Paper's archives.
We did everything to find an answer to Puck's origins.
But the search was futile.

But Puck wasn't someone who surrendered easily.
"Don't worry, Wanda. I don't mind if it takes years, somehow I'll find my answer!"- that's what he'd always say with that cheerful smile of his.
He was so easygoing and playful.

We had a lot of fun together.

And by the end of that week, we were the best of friends.

"Hey! Andromeda! What a pleasant surprise!"
"Yeah, yeah... it's been months, right?"

"But I guess it's obvious... seeing how busy we had both been while taking care of our little ones. You said you didn't want to be a Pollination Technician, but you've done an outstanding job pollinating your wife!"
"Andromeda!"
"He he! So, do you already have a name for your new baby?"
"Yeah, we're gonna call her Natalia."
"Nice name! And how do you plan to name the next one?"
"Are you crazy? Natalia's gonna be the last one! Bella and I are getting old, pal."
"Three girls and a boy..."

"That means Andrew's the one who's gonna board the Mother ship in a few years, right?"

"What are you talking about, Andromeda?"

"Oh please, Cosmo! Don't tell me you've forgotten it! The Graslaxian Code of Honor! Section 45, Paragraph 6. 'Of the rights and obligations of the half-blood citizens'"
"I... I don't remember reading that..."
"All the Graslaxian Half-Blood Citizens have the obligation to keep the alien blood strong among their descendants. Therefore, they must submit one of their male spawn to the Mothership the day he turns 25 Earth years old. How could you had forgotten it, Cosmo? I'm already preparing Saturn for his polinization. I've been giving him books to read and..."
"What? You mean they are going to take Andrew and polinizate him when he's 25?"
"Of course!"
"I... I won't allow it! I... I saw so many humans being polinizated when I lived in the Graslaxian ship... I don't want my son to suffer that procedure!"
"You have no choice, Cosmo. It's Graslaxian law. Did you really think we'd just live comfortable lives while the rest of the Graslaxian race suffers back at our planet? Our mission is to re-create our race here on Earth... there's no way out of this... unless..."
"Unless...?"

"Unless you find someone who'd take Andrew's place. You know, just like Pollination #9 did to your father. You'd have to trick him and I guess that'll be hard. We are well known families at Strangetown, so it'd be difficult... You may need either a complete idiot or someone who has NO idea about us Graslaxians..."

Cosmo couldn't sleep for several days, terrified of the idea of sending his only son out to space.
But then, one day, he heard his daughter's voice at the front yard, accompanied by an unfamiliar male voice...

A red-haired youth from out of town.
Cosmo couldn't believe his luck...

"I'm going to save you, Andrew. I promise!"

Dad liked Puck since the first moment he saw him.
They talked at the studio for hours.
Dad even invited him to our Christmas Eve dinner!

Of course, for such an special event, I had to be ready!

And I made sure everyone around the house looked their best.

Dad prepared his special dish, the Holiday Roast.

And Mom, who was expecting our new sister any moment now, was the one in charge of greeting our visitors.
She nearly cried when Andrew arrived.

The dinner was delicious; we all ate until we were full.

And while Grandpa played the piano, we took pictures and sang together.

I was so, SO happy to have Andrew back at home.
I'd really missed him this last year.

He was having an awesome time at College.
I'd never seen him so happy.

In the end, it was an unforgettable evening for everyone.
Including Puck, who really missed his family that night.
"Thank you for everything!"-he said, as we saying good-bye-"Your family is awesome! They made me feel like home! You're the best friend I'd ever find, Wanda. I'm so glad to have met you."

We remained in silence for a few seconds.
As I looked into his eyes... I felt something inside me move.
A new feeling...

"Hey Puck!"-I said pointing upwards- "Look up!"

It was mistletoe.
"Tee Hee! You know the tradition, Puck!"

He blushed- "Well... yeah... but..."

I couldn't help myself.
I kissed him right there.

My very first kiss...

The reality of what I had done fell over me as soon as we break apart.
"I'm SO sorry, Puck! I know you have a girlfriend... I... I don't know why I did it... I'm sorryImsorryImsorry!"
But Puck wasn't angry. He just smiled and said- "Merry Christmas, Wanda"
And then he left.
_________________________________________

Mom gave us our first Christmas present the following morning.

Just as we expected, it was a healthy girl.
They named her Natalia.

Just like Andrew, Natalia inherited the Broke's blue eyes.
Obviously, everyone at home were full of joy.

Except for me.
The winter break was over... so it was time for my best friend to return to his hometown.
Puck was also sad to go...

"We'll see each other again, right? There's the phone and the e-mail! You can come and visit us anytime you want! Besides, there's still your mission! We still have to search in other places and..."

"Yeah, that's right, Wanda. I'm sure we'll see each other again. I want to thank you for everything you did for me. As I said last night, I'm so glad I met you."
"Speaking of last night I..."
"There's no need to apologize. It was just a tradition thing, right?"
"Yeah..."

As we hugged each other, I tried to smile as much as he did.
This wasn't the end of our story, right? Just the beginning! We'd be friends forever!

But as soon as he left, I broke down in tears.
I'd never felt so empty in my whole life...
Was this what a heart-ache felt like?

I was Grandpa the one who cheered me up.
"Wanda, if there's something I learned in my life, is that you can't force anything. If Puck and you are destined to be, then life will bring you together again when the right time arrives. Trust me..."

I have no idea how Grandpa knew that my feelings for Puck were more than platonic... but his wise words made me so much good.
I'd really miss him once I left for College.
___________________________

Time went by, and things went back to normal.
I was now trying new games for the upcoming tournament.

One of them was some sort of virtual dollhouse. It was so silly!

Tamara finally left her toddler years...

And became a girl.

Something odd happened after Puck left.
After many, many months of not talking to each other, Abhjeet asked me out.

He seemed nervous when we met each other at The Hub, a hip restaurant a few miles from Strangetown.

He was a bit embarrassed. He didn't think about the climate when he made the reservation.
Therefore, he was afraid I'd be mad for dining in the middle of a snow storm.

But hey! I didn't mind! Actually, it was quite fun!

Abhjeet and I saw each other frequently the following months.

And soon enough, things heated between us.
Yeah... they got pretty hot at times.
It was weird... I had wished and prayed for years to have someone to kiss and to party all night long.
And now that I was finally dating Abhjeet (something I also wanted), it wasn't as fun as I expected.
I had a certain idea what was making me incomplete, but after 18 months not talking to each other, I realized it was time to move on.
What Puck and I had that Winter Break was just a silly one-sided crush.

So anyway, time went by...

Natalia had her very first birthday...

And I finally left for college...
_____________________

And that's where I am right now.
I'm a freshman at La Fiesta Tech.
I haven't decided my major yet.

I live at a beautiful dorm, the Broke Sr. Dorm, named after one of its past Deans, Beau Broke
Grandpa really did a lot for the students during his years as Dean. With the help of Grandma Lilith's, he convinced many companies to invest in the University so many poor students would have the same education opportunities as everyone else.

Our dorm is small. There are only six rooms here.
In one of them lives my cousin, Saturn Curious, also a freshman majoring in Arts.
He wants to follow his father's steps in every way.
He also wants to be a famous chef, and to "pollinate" as many girls as possible.
"Yeah, I guess I'd like to have fun before I'm pollinated myself..."
I have no idea what he's talking about... he's so weird sometimes...

And of course there's Andrew, a sophomore majoring in Mathematics.
I have NO idea why he chose that, especially because he had so much trouble at that subject when he was a kid.
But Andre's an oddball...

Don't think that just because I'm a college student, I've dropped my videogame addiction.
No Sir!
Actually, I'd love to become a videogame designer, just like Uncle Henry.
I'll ask him for advice... perhaps he'll recommend me a good major for that career.

Sadly, I don't play as much as I did back home.
The teachers are mean! I have to read SO MANY books!
I've been here the whole afternoon studying! I'm almost dying!

I... I have no idea what time is it, or when this guy sat down next to me.
I guess I was too busy reading to pay attention to my surroundings.

Hmmm... This guy is a hottie.

Uh Oh... He's noticed I've been looking at him!
Man! That's so embarrassing!
"So tell me Wanda, are you finally done with that book? Can I say hello now?"

"Uh excuse me but... do I know you?"

"Oh please, Wanda! Don't tell me you don't recognize me! That's SO soap opera-ish! What? Do I need to cover my face with make-up again?"

"Oh my Goodness! Puck!"

It is Puck! He's here! Right here at my dorm!

OK, so I guess my reaction was a bit extreme... but I am SO happy to see him!
It's been two years!

You know what?
This College experience is gonna be better than I expected!

Notes:
- All right, monster update. This is the last time I pack so many pictures in one update. It took FOREVER to write this! :)
- Because I'm sure you are curious, here are some more pictures of Icaro and Molly's families:

Venus as a child.

Venus as a teen.

Michael as a child

Michael as a teen. Yeah, he inherited the Pleasant nose ^_^.
I'm afraid Venus and Michael won't appear much in this legacy. Halley and Isabel will join Wanda and co. at college pretty soon.
- Tamara and Natalia's stats will appear next update. I forgot to write them ! :S. Be sure, I won't neglect these girls (especially Tamara, who's hilarious).
- So, now we have a Veronaville crossover. That was the very first time I played the Summerdream family. Yikes! Those Capp and Monty are ANNOYING. I couldn't get Oberon and Titania married because of those constant fights.
- I've been asked to upload my Sims. I'd love to do it, and I've even already subtracted them with SimPe, but I just can't open Bodyshop. It just doesn't work in my computer :(. I could upload the PACKAGE files, but I don't know if that would work on other computers.
- I'm finally done with all the pictures I had in my folder!
- Thanks for reading the monster update! See you next time!
