Previous update: Gen 3.3.

Hi there!

This is Wanda Broke, also known as SparklyElvenPrincess56 at the SimWarcraft MMORPG.

I'm currently a Lv. 44 Warlock. And it's taken me a long, long time to get to that level.
Dad says I spend too much time playing and that I should use my free time to study or do my homework.

Well... It's not my fault that my dog keeps eating my homework all the time!
Of course, the teacher never believes me.

Lately, I've been trying to join this one guild on the Internet.
But those guys are a bunch of elitists! They still won't accept me!

But don't think my life consists on playing videogames 24/7!
Nope! There are tons of things I do too!

Like dreaming about my One True Love.
I know he's there, somewhere... he's probably looking for me too!
I can't wait to meet him! I'm sure he's gonna be an extraordinary guy!

I also play the drums with my Big Bro Andrew.
We kinda formed a small music band.
It doesn't have a name yet...

I told Andrew that in order to be a successful rock band, we should look like rock stars.
"Seriously, Bro. That look you sport is SO 2005! You need something new!"

Andrew was secretly impressed by my lovely pink hair (despite how angry Grandpa became after he saw me), so he knew I'd create the perfect look for him.

.

"Now that's what I'm talking about, Wanda! This is perfect!"

"I just hope Grandpa won't pop a vein when he sees me!"
"Nah! I'm sure he'll like it!"

Actually, he didn't even notice Andrew's new look.
He'd been acting a bit weird lately.

He'd been writing a lot of letters on his free time.

And he even asked Andrew to teach him how to chat online.
Wow! It seemed like Grandpa had finally realized we were in a new Century!

He also often got strange phone calls at nights.
And he spent HOURS talking to some mysterious person.

Said mysterious person arrived at our house one day.
Dad told us that she was Lucy Burb, Grandpa's childhood friend from Pleasantview.

She'd been traveling the world since the death of her husband, Alexander Goth.
Yeah, our half-brother.
The one who was 60 years older than us.
My family is so weird...

So that made Lucy our sister-in-law.
Anyway!
She's a nice woman.
Pity that she was all alone in the World.
Her only son, Hermes, was currently living in Albania.
I have no idea why.

Grandpa and Lucy wrote to each other for years.
And when Lucy returned to Pleasantview, he invited her to stay with us for a couple weeks.
They were so happy to see each other again after so many years.

I'd never seen Grandpa so happy.
He even acted like a 15 year old!

As the days went by, Grandpa and Lucy became more and more closer.

I still don't know how I didn't notice what was happening until that night.

Andrew and I were having dinner together.
He was telling me about a couple songs he had written for our band.

Dad, who was acting weirder than ever, was locked inside his bathroom practicing a speech he had to deliver for the Paranormal Symposium.

And Grandpa and Lucy were chatting in the living room, perhaps remembering their youthful days back when the dinosaurs still roamed the Earth.

Just as I passed the living room before joining Andrew in the kitchen for dinner, I caught Lucy crying.
I didn't want to bother them, so I walked as quickly as possible.
I have no idea what made her so sad.

Anyway!
We suddenly listened to some odd sounds, like moaning.
"Errr... Wanda? Do you hear what I hear?"

"Yeah... it sounds like a couple of wild animals mating or something!"
"Don't be stupid, Wanda! It's coming from the living room! What if Grandpa or Lucy are not feeling well?!"

Without any other word, Andrew stood up and ran to the living room, fearing that Grandpa or Lucy were having a hear attack.
Just as I was about to join him, I heard it:
"What the...? GRANDPA?!"
Yeah, Grandpa are Lucy were not ill.
Nope! They were making out in the living room!

Lucy felt embarrassed after being caught "in the act" by Andrew, so she left the room in a hurry.
Andrew was SO angry! He loved Grandma Lilith a lot and thought that Granpa's behavior was some kind of betrayal to her memory.
But Grandpa explained him that Grandma Lilith would always be the great love of his life and that no one would ever change that fact.
And that he was sure Grandma Lilith would approve his relationship with Lucy. That she'd want both her husband and her cousin to be happy during the last years of their lives.

Andrew eventually accepted this relationship.
You know what's funny? Lucy was actually Grandpa's first girlfriend!
They were deeply in love when they were teens, but then stuff happened (and neither of them want to talk about it) and Grandpa moved to Strangetown.
And now, after 60 years, they are together again!
Isn't it romantic?!

Andrew didn't think it was precisely romantic.
But he's a weird guy, what does he know about love?!

There was someone else who didn't like this relationship.

And that night, she gave Grandpa a huge scare.

She also scared Dad, as if she were warning him to not date another girl EVER.

Dad was freaked out. I didn't see the ghost, but Andrew said that Dad kept muttering "Soon Bella... very soon" after she was gone.

It seems that Bella's visit left Dad a bit shocked, because he lost his mind the following morning.
He spent a long time in the bathroom.
So long that we left for school without greeting him like we did every morning.

We found him a few hours later, sitting in the living room.
And he looked so different...

"What the...? DAD?!"

"Hello, Andrew. Did you have a nice day at school?"

"What did you shave your head? And what about those weird clothes you are wearing?"

"Oh... this? It's nothing, Andrew. I'm currently in a spiritual transition, and in order to contact the beings from the Great Beyond, one must leave behind every mundane stuff that attach you to this plain, corporeal plane"
"Like your hair and shoes?"
"Exactly, Son."

Neither Andrew nor I understood what Dad said.
We eventually concluded that Mom's ghost had scared him so much, that he had shaven his head as some sort of post-traumatic reaction.
Andrew wondered if it'd be a good idea to call a shrink, just in case.

But other than that, Dad seemed fine.
He even looked happy.
And he looked so cool bald! Like a comic book bad guy!

One week later, Grandpa prepared a wonderful dinner.

Even Tessa (who was loved by Grandpa the most) was invited to it.

Grandpa had been so happy ever since he started his relationship with Lucy.
He even laughed when he saw Dad's new look.
Anyway, during dinner, he raised his glass and made a toast "for the Broke family. And for the existence of second chances"

He then looked at Lucy and said,
"My sweet Lucy, although most people would think we are too old to be dating, we both know that perhaps this was the right time for this to happen. We had to mature, to meet our wonderful partners and to procreate our children. I'm glad with the way I've lived my life, despite everything that happened in our youth."

"I know I told you so many years ago that it was too late for us. That our time had passed and that it was time to move to our futures. And that's what we both did. But now I feel like this is the right moment and that we are finally ready to be together. Lucy Burb..."

"Will you marry me?"

Of course, Lucy accepted.

The moved to our house the following morning.
And, with the help of Kendal and Molly (who also approved this marriage), we planned a beautiful, small wedding.
The night before the ceremony, both Grandpa and Lucy were glowing with joy and anticipation.
Andrew and I went to bed early, exhausted from decorating the house.

And Dad... well... we didn't hear him leave the house in the early hours of the morning...

Grandpa and Lucy got married the following morning.

Just as they wished, we prepared a small party.
Only the Broke family was invited.

Following Grandpa's wishes, I washed the pink dye out of my hair.
But that didn't mean I wouldn't wear something pink to the party!

The ceremony was very cute!
Grandpa and Lucy said a lot of mushy stuff to each other.
I was so tempted to write some of it on a notebook, so I can say it to my future husband.
Darn it! Where are you, oh love of my life?!

After the ceremony, there was a huge, delicious meal prepared by Uncle Andromeda.
And of course, there were lots of champagne.
All my uncles and aunts toasted for the happy couple, wishing them a lot of years of happiness.

We were all a liiitle drunk when Dad took out yet another bottle.
He was glowing with happiness as he said he had an important announcement to make.

"Today's an important day. A day that proves that second chances are possible. Despite their difficult past, Dad and Lucy finally got a second chance to be together, and I'm sure they'll be happy for the rest of their lives.
But they aren't the only Brokes who got a second chance today...

Sixteen years ago, my children were robbed of something precious.
The opportunity of being raised and loved by their mother.
After I lost her, I promised myself I'd work hard to give my kids a second chance to be happy.
To have a complete family.
And I'm glad to say I succeeded...
I propose a toast to my children, Andrew and Wanda...
And their beautiful mother, Bella Broke..."

All the guests were silent as a lone figure appeared behind us.
The only one who dared say anything was Grandpa.
"Oh my..."

"M... Mother?"

A beautiful woman in red was suddenly in front of me.
She looked so much like Andrew it was easy to tell they were related.
I didn't have any memories of her, besides the few pictures I had seen around the house.

I'd never felt... more afraid in my whole life.

Andrew ran inside the house without saying anything else.
When I reached him, he was crying.
"This is not possible, Wanda! This... this is insane!"
But the source of our insanity was suddenly sitting between us.
And she begged us to listen to her story...

Last night, while you were sleeping, your father went to the backyard.
Once there, he lighted a huge bonfire.
He was taught that its light would help us spirits in our journey back to the living plane.

He'd given up a lot of things, only to be taught what he was going to do that night.

He'd worked hard in the Strangetown Paranormal Cult.
His Graslaxian studies, his research, his active involvement with the Cult... all of that had given him the highest position in the organization.
The Cult Founder's Spirit, Olive Specter, had chosen him as their new Leader.
And with that leadership, came the right to contact the Great Beyond.

"I've done a lot of things to reach you, Master of Death. I'm sure I've proven myself worthy of your attention. Release my wife from your plane and return her to my children. This time I've won!"
"Very well, Cosmo Broke. I'd lend to you what is undoubtedly mine. She chose this path sixteen years ago, but there's nothing I can do to respect her wishes any longer. Just be ready to endure what consequences you may receive with your choice."

One moment I was an ethereal being.
The following one I was back on my feet, still wearing the maternity dress I had on the day I died.

As I felt the clean air of the desert entering my lungs after a long time, I was suddenly aware that I was alive again.

And that the man who was looking at me with such adoration was indeed my husband, but he looked so different now.

I have no memories of my life as a ghost. For me, it was as if my immortal life had lasted just a fraction of a second.
I'm still confused... the only thing I'm sure of at the moment is that once again I was robbed of my son and daughter's childhoods.
Once again I lost my chance to see them grow up...

______________________

"This... this is so confusing. I can barely recognize you... you were just a toddler, Andrew."

"And Wanda... my dear daughter. This is the first time I've been able to see your face. I was so weak when I gave birth to you, I was unable to hold you, to see how beautiful you were..."

"Why did you leave us, Mom?"
- I asked, remembering the Grim Reaper's words- "Did you really want to die when I was born?"

"I can't really explain it, Wanda. My life has been so confusing... so full of loss. I lost Mortimer, Alexander and Cassandra because of the Graslaxians and a huge mistake. I betrayed my family... and when I visited Cassandra's grave after my wedding... I just lost it. I really wanted to see her again, to tell her I was sorry for all the damage I did to her.
I was so depressed during the last months of my pregnancy, that I stopped eating and sleeping. I even thought I saw Mortimer at every corner. And when your difficult birth robbed me of my last drops of energy, the Grim Reaper's offer was so tempting... the chance to see my lost family again, to be with them forever... and I accepted."

"I'm so sorry, Andrew and Wanda. It's just not fair... I don't want to choose between my present and past lives..."
"Did you ever get the chance to see Cassandra again, Mom?"
"I don't really remember it, but somehow I think I did. I now feel at ease when I think about her."
"Then I guess there's nothing more to say. Just like Dad said, you were given a second chance. You've made up with Cassandra and Alexander, and now it's time you make up with Wanda and I."

I was impressed at my brother's maturity.
Bella.. I mean Mom started to cry and hugged us.
She promised she'd never leave us again.

After the shocking events at their wedding, Grandpa and Lucy decided to not go to their Honey Moon.
They both knew Andrew and I would be disturbed at Mom's revival, and wanted to make sure we were fine.
Lucy was so sweet to me, she played videogames with me the whole evening.

But eventually they went to bed. It had been a long, wonderful and tiring day for them.

Once the house was silent, Mom and Dad wasted no time re-igniting their love.

And as for Andrew and I...
"I... I can't sleep, Big Bro..."

Andrew didn't say anything. He just moved a little and allowed me to sit with him.
We were silent for many, many minutes.

"I'm scared, Andrew."
"I'm scared too, Wanda. But as long as we have each other, we'd be all right. I promise..."

And that was the night in which Andrew became my best friend.

________________________________

Following Mom's request, Dad quit his job as a Cult Leader.
He didn't mind it. He said he had done enough Paranormal research for a life time.
He wanted to spend as much time as possible with his wife, so he remained unemployed for several months.

So yeah, it had been six months since my Grandparent's wedding.
And things were a bit normal now.
I didn't keep my hair black for too long.
Nope! I found an awesome purple dye at the store and I just HAD to try it!

And guess what?! I was finally accepted in the Game Guild! I was currently the best button masher in the group.
My Warlock was now Lv. 66 and I kicked ass at Road Pugilist! Me and Lin Chu were an unstoppable team!
So much that I was frequently invited to videogame tournaments and conventions.
I won a bit of money too!

That meant I still had to practice my moves every day.
Grandpa was always there to cheer me up!
He had changed so much, it seemed like marriage made him so much good.

Andrew didn't go back to his awesome blue hair.
He said that music wasn't what he expected, and that he needed to concentrate in his studies with the College applications coming up.

Yeah, Andrew became a bit boring.
But he was still the best Big Bro ever!

As I said earlier, Grandpa's marriage was the stuff you find in my pink novels.
Just looking at those two together made my heart warm!
Really! I couldn't wait for the Love of my Life!

The Broke house was infected with the love bug.
Mom and Dad were even worse than Grandpa!

Dad still kept some of the habits he acquired during his years in the Paranormal Cult.
He also grew back his hair, as per Mom's request.
What a pity!

Dad got a great offer from La Fiesta Tech.
They hired him as a Parapsychology Professor.
He nearly refused the offer, but then Grandpa told him that after so many years studying and researching, it was finally time to pass that knowledge to the future generations.

Dad took the job, but only part-time.
He wanted to spend most time near Mom, making sure she was feeling OK.
Yeah... you won't believe this but... she was PREGNANT!
It was so weird! But I was excited! A baby brother or sister! Someone I could teach everything I knew about videogames!
And I could do their hair too!

Speaking of which, I gave Lucy a makeover a few weeks later.
Grandpa showed me some pictures of their teenage years.
Man! Grandpa was hot! And Lucy was SO beautiful!
What a pity that age had hidden her awesome features.

But it was nothing a little bit of make-up and some dye couldn't fix.
Not to sound vain, but I think Lucy now looked even better than when she was a teen.

Mom was impressed with what she called "my special talent".
"Have you ever thought about making a living of it, Wanda?"
Me? A hairdresser? Please?! I wanted to be best videogame designer ever! That was just my hobby.

The day I turned seventeen, my family threw a small party in my honor.

Andrew brought home this HOT guy from school.

I spent the whole afternoon trying to attract his attention.

But he wasn't interested in anything I had to say.
What a loser...!

You won't believe what Mom gave me as a birthday present!
A professional stylist chair!

She was the first person to try it too.
"Go nuts, Wanda. I'm sure you'll make something awesome for me."

I guess I went a little too nuts.
I was so nervous that I chopped my mother's hair off.
I was so afraid she wouldn't like it...

To my relief, she loved it!
"I knew you'd do something great, Wanda. This is perfect! I won't have much time to take care of my hair once the baby is born, though."

My relationship with Mom wasn't still as close as I wished. Sometimes I still called her Bella. But nonetheless she tried so hard to win my love, with little details like this one. I can't tell if I'll ever be able to accept her completely as my mother, but only time will tell.

What did Dad think of Mom's new look?
He thought she looked hot.
Although to be honest, I guess I could shave Mom's head and tattoo little stars all over her face and he'd still think she looks hot.
Hmmm... that actually sounds cool...

Mom went into labor a few hours later.

And before we could take her to the hospital, she gave birth to a beautiful, healthy little girl.

Welcome to the family, Tamara Broke!

Notes:
- Yay speedy update! I had all the pictures of this update ready since yesterday ^^. I also have the pics of the next two updates, but I still need to edit and sort them (my folder is a mess), so those will have to wait a little while.
- Just to make it official, Wanda is the Gen 3 Heiress. Tamara was born too late in this Generation (and it's going to take forever if I wait for her to grow up) and Andrew is a male knowledge Sim like his father. But I wanted to see if I could get a green baby out of Cosmo... pity. It seems the only one who inherited an alien trait is Wanda.
- Lucy Burb is back! Blame Beau's three bolts attraction to her. Really, the "Lucy dies" fear has been stuck in Beau's panel his WHOLE life. And I wanted Beau to be happy the last few days of his life. I'm so going to miss him!
- LOL! Cosmo looked like Lex Luthor when he was bald! Yeah, the bald sub-plot was to explain the extremely ridiculous paranormal outfit. I could have resurrected Bella earlier (Cosmo got the Paranormal reward as soon as he took the job), but I waited until he reached the top of the Paranormal career before he used it as a personal challenge. He's now working on his second LTW (and I think it's gonna be SO easy. Yay for a free super bookcase!).
- I'm finally seeing a bit of the ACR in my game. Man! Cosmo and Bella are such hormonal freaks! If I leave them alone for a few seconds, they are naked and woo hooing like crazy in the sofa or the bed. Keep your clothes on, guys! Photobucket won't let me upload that kind of pics!
- Andrew is the nicest one-nice-point Sim I've ever seen. Come on! I've seen one-point Sims in other legacies and they are such a bunch of crazy bitches! Why can't I have a crazy bitch in my game?! But I love him nonetheless.
- I don't know much about MOORPG's, so Wanda's videogame babble was made up with what I've read about WOW on the Internet. I'm sorry if it's not accurate.

See you next time!

But Cosmo and Bella have had an awesome range of children. All different eye colours, and some different skin tones. I never get that

There's a mod at More Awesome Than You (aka MATY) that's called the Lot Debugger. It's a black box with a Batman logo that you can find in the Misc part on Buy Mode. You place it on the lot and it has a lot of options. I'm deadly afraid of messing up my game, so the only one I use is the "Randomize Sims" (or something like that). Just before my Sim goes into labor, I save the game and use the Lot Debugger.

It mixes the sims genes (the game gets stuck for a little while) and exits the lot without saving. Once it's done, I just reload the lot and voila! Different babies!

By the way, I just looked at your icons and I love how there is one for each founder! Cosmo is the cutest though!
I want to have 10 icons by the time I finish this legacy (in the year 2026 at this rate :S). I've noticed I tend to icon the toddler pictures. I can't help it! They are so cute! (and Cosmo is the cutest toddler I've ever had ^^).

Thank you so much for reading! :)
