simgaroopBack when I first read the "Lies and Propaganda" about the Apartment Life EP, I pretty much decided which of the new objects I would try out first. Now that I'm done with all the "landscaping" and setting up process of my current update, I'm playing with the Brokes full time :).
So, it was finally time to try out the "superstar" microphone!
My next update will start six months after Marsha's death, and many things have changed for the Brokes in that time. Tim and his two sons moved out of their old house and into an apartment next to the old Grunt household.
Now that he's in charge of his two sons, and seeing how much is Tommy suffering, Tim decides he should stay by their side at all times to support them. He no longer can spend as much time away from Strangetown as he did in the past, so he retires from his acting career.
He still needs to pay the rent and bills, though, so he looks for a new job around Strangetown. And that's how he ends up working as a stand up comedian at "Doc Alan's Hangout", a poor place that's just opened.
I love Tim's silly expressions during his performance. The new microphone from AL let your sims sing, recite poetry and perform comedy. This is exactly the kind of object I needed back when Tim was a teenager (though I had a good laugh when I watched him "Free Style" for tips).
The audio is hilarious too!
Unfortunately, the public is suffering from the well-known Sim's A.D.D., so no one pays attention to him,
Good thing that his little brother Cody showed up just in time to support Tim.
I was pretty confused when I saw the floor sparkle. For a moment, I thought that was an "effect" from Tim's awesome routine (well, he must be good, 'cause he has max creativity and charisma).
The mastermind behind this odd effect showed up just then.
Meet Amy Ng, the infalible good witch. Seriously Maxis, I know that it is tradition to give your characters silly names, but I have no idea how do you expect me to pronounce "Ng"!
"Do I dazzle you?"
She's pretty cute, right? This was the first time I've ever seen a witch in action.
Once Amy left the place, Tim continued with his comedy routine.
TA DA!
Everyone else in the lot: Ignores Tim.
Buck Grunt: Claps like crazy.
This guy takes possession of the mic as soon as Tim leaves the stage.
I'm afraid I must agree with Tim, though, for that guy's voice is awful!
BTW, I also made Tim sing during this visit and I was on the verge of trying to write the lyrics down, because they are very funny!
