Today, April 30th, is Mexico's Children Day.

This is a day to remember the international rights of children.

As you can expect, today I'm gonna be quite busy with my little students. There's gonna be a picnic and a puppet play at the school, and my hands are now green and red from helping the other teachers elaborate small dolls to give them as presents. I already bought a bag of candy and I'm getting ready to spend most of the morning drawing Princesses and Star Wars characters for them.

Thanks to the wonderful tutorial [insanejournal.com profile] strange_tomato posted on her journal, I was able to create a set of simlish pictures and portraits to decorate my sim!kids rooms. It's almost as easy as the Sims 1 program I used back in the day to create paintings. Most of them feature my Legacy sims, plus a few odd picture I found in my harddrive.

I figured someone might find these recolours useful. These are my first custom content creations!

I think they are base game compatible, but I'm listing the name of the original Maxis mesh in the preview pictures just in case there's a University or Nightlife mesh in there. There are four zips: One for babies, one for kids, one for teens and a set of random paintings. Each file is clearly labeled, so you can erase the ones you are not interested in. I didn't enhance the preview pictures in Photoshop, so you could see how these paintings really look like in game.

To install, just unzip the files in your Downloads folder. Because these are Maxis recolours (not new Meshes), you need to install the CEP (Color Enable Package) from Mod the Sims 2.

Feel free to do whatever you want with them, because they are a Children Day's present from me. (Because we should also celebrate our "inner child" ^^)

Random Paintings

This set includes random pictures from drabbles and my first attempts at an ongoing project: I'd like to have a set of "Pre-Pleasantview" paintings to decorate my Pleasantview lots. So, I downloaded and re-created the Sims 1 original neighborhood (and sims) and I’ve been taking a few “portraits” of them.

In this set I’m including the finished portraits of the Goth family, the Oldie family (on the left, you can see Herb, Coral and child Mary-Sue, besides their wedding picture) and the first Pleasant portrait (Jeff and Diane, Daniel and Jennifer’s parents). There are more portraits coming soon! :P
