So, I'm still waiting until Free Time comes out. I don't know the exact date, but it's next week, right? I can hardly wait to try the new hobbies and aspiration meters on my Gen 5 kids (who aren't even born yet!), plus the new careers and objects. And the genie too!

I was (and still am) so indifferent towards Bon Voyage, so it is a 180° turn how excited I am for this EP.

Anyway, meanwhile I've been playing a bit with Moontown and Tim's years at College, as I commented in previous entries. I'm finally on his junior year (although I'm cheating and using the College Adjuster, so I'm only playing semesters 2, 4, 6 and 8) and so far it's been way less annoying than other times. Perhaps because I'm playing less sims, there are more options for community lots and I'm not dealing with the lag from dorms.

Yesterday I realized that I was approaching the point in which I'd be no longer able to take pictures at community lots without having a "cameo" from a Sim that is supposed to be a) Dead or b)Old. That's the problem when you follow a Story Legacy, unless you don't mind continuity mistakes. Last time I sent Tim to a lot, I could barely take pics because P.T. Smith and Molly Broke (who're supposed to be dead) were smuttling in the middle of the dance floor.

So, I decided to clean, update and recycle all the Strangetown lots that I've interacted with since I started the legacy.

Here's the Broke Cemetery. I downloaded it from either MTS2 or TSR (probably the former). I only remember it was originally the "Johanssen Cemetery".
This is where I'm sending the graves of the Brokes from previous generations.
I visited my Gen 2 lots and "killed" Molly, Andromeda, Icaro and Kendra (whose grave disappeared under mysterious circumstances).
I also aged Saturn into an elder and his son Mars into a young adult, who's going to La Fiesta Tech.

Here's a closer shot of the graves I have so far. I'm only sending to this place the most important characters (plot-wise), so other cousins and relatives will either have their graves erased or spend the rest of their pixelated existence in the Sim!Bin (hoping they won't escape like the Ottomas Family).
I know that Brandi, Dustin, Angela and David are supposed to be at Pleasantview, but let’s just pretend that Beau's relatives brought them to Strangetown after the Pleasantview Cementary was flooded.
Once I get enough graves, I'm gonna send a Gen 7 or 8 member to interact with the ghosts at night :P.

Here's a shot of the "Spouse Mausoleum". Here's where I'm gonna store the rests of the Heir Spouses.
As you can see, only Lilith and Bella are here at the moment, but I guess Puck will join them very soon :(.
Lucy's not here because she didn't gave birth to an "official Broke", despite being Beau's wife later in life.

OK, so I killed the Gen 2 spares, right?
So now I had to age the Gen 3 spares.
More exactly, Andrew's family.
I got lazy and didn't age Tamara and Natalia's families, because I don't think they'll appear in the story again, while Andrew's still involved with the plot (as you'll see in the next update).
Bottom is "living" with Andrew, so I gave her a more "middle aged" look, keeping in mind that her brother is one day away from Elderhood.

Here's Sarah.

This is Eighty-Eight, who still looks young because she didn't age at all when she was a P.T.

Andrew and Eighty's teen daughter, Sixty (who's up for download).

Here's Tessa, who funny enough, became an elder dog on her own while I was aging the rest of the family.
By the way, no one has noticed that Bonkers the cat is gone from the main Broke household.
Well, he was actually taken away because for some odd reason, he fell in that annoying "death-circle" of being too tired to eat, but also too hungry to sleep.
Rose Mary, who was cranky and moody from her first pregnancy, ignored my orders when I asked her to feed Bonkers, and well... I lost the cat.
He was very old, so I guess we can pretend he died.
The funny part is that the Officer scolded BUCK of all people when she took Bonkers away. Dude, he had been married to Rose for just a few hours!
I took some pics, but couldn't find a way to make them work with the last update, so I erased them.

But let's go back to Andrew's family... and meet Elder Andrew himself.

Who's still pretty handsome, at least IMO.

________________

So, I had "killed" the Gen 2 and aged the Gen 3, but I still had the problem of the Maxis characters going around the neighborhood.
It was time to kill them off.
So, my first stop was the Smith house.

I aged Jenny into an elder, and killed both her and P.T. Smith with Insim.

Yeah, Johnny was NOT amused by these sad events on his birthday.
You'll notice he's now a brunet, right?
Well, I had also planned to kill Johnny and Jill, because they existence made no sense to the storyline, but felt bad about it.
While I interacted with P.T. Smith and Jenny back at Gen 1, these two sims had never been played at all.
So, I decided to do something similar to what I did to the Grunts, and pretend that Johnny and Jill are descendants of the original Smith family.
I gave Johnny a makeover and left him in the Smith house, so, if you ever see him in a downtown picture, he's a "new character".
I still haven't figured out a new name for him, or if he'll be part of the plot. Any suggestions?
Let's see if ACR works its magic with him, though ^^.

Just before I "killed" P.T and Jenny, the "I inherited money" icon appeared over the Smith's heads.
Confused, I clicked on their memories to see what was going on and well...

Both P.T. and Jenny had this memory :D.

And Jill got some money from Molly, who was her BFF back in Gen 2.
Jill's also a close friend of Tim and now that I aged her to a young adult, she's got two bolts with him :P.
But she hasn't interacted with him yet.

Here's Johnny's "makeover".
Yup, I gave him alien eyes to make him a bit more "different" and because it'd make sense to have more "Graslaxians" in Strangetown besides the Brokes and the Curious.

Now this picture reminds me of something I read at MATY.
According to them, the genetics of the Strangetown are a mess.
Most of the characters are missing some genetic values/code and that's the reason P.T. and Jenny often have a dark skinned kid if they have another baby.
The article mentions that only Nervous Subject, Olive Specter and Ophelia (I think) have correct DNA, while the rest of them are a mess.
Lyla Grunt is the worst of them all.
The problem with this is that some people mention that their games blew up when the Strangetown characters had babies, because the game didn't have a skin value to assign to the new kid.
So that brings me to a question: Have you played with the Grunts long enough to see something like this? Did you have any trouble breeding them? Or their children? I ask this because both Lyla and Nancy can be potential "problems" if this issue is true.
If that's the case, I guess none of Rosie and Buck's kids can be Gen 5 Heirs, because they could pass a glitch to future generations :(.
Pity...

Finally, I visited the Curious household.
But just as I did with Johnny and Jill, I didn't want to kill them off; because I never played with them (I only waited until they gave birth to Andromeda and Sirius, and forgot about that house).
So, I aged them down to teenagers and sent them to La Fiesta Tech as long, lost Curious descendents from Riverblossom Hills :P.
I also need new names for them, in case ACR decides that they should be included to the story in a future generation.

Here's Vidcund when he arrived to his dorm. I'd never seen that cinematic! :)

Here's Mars Curious chatting with one of his new roommates...

... also known as "Lazlo Curious", now a Popularity Sim.

Here's "Pascal Curious", a Family Sim.

Here's "Jill Smith", a Fortune Sim.
Red hair suits her, don't you think?

And finally, my favorite makeover, if only for the laughs.
Here's "Vidcund Curious", a Romance Sim.
Hey! Andromeda and Saturn must have inherited their charms from someone! ;)

So that's what's going on in my game right now. I only hope all this "recycling" of Sims won't make my neighborhood explode.
I played for a little while today and had no trouble so far, so that's a good sign.

And this is what happened just before I quit my game today. Consider it a "teaser" for the next update (coming up this weekend):

Sure, David. Your "friend" Opal.
David invited Tim to an outing with Helena, his Grandmother and Opal.
Really, sometimes the game is the one who's writing this story, not me! :)

Oh! Before I go, thanks to [insanejournal.com profile] music_simbol and [insanejournal.com profile] kingmike1224, who kindly left me a message, I now have the name for Tim's first son: Poof Broke. Yeah, that's what I get for saying I'd name the kid after Cosmo and Wanda's baby. I never imagined the name would be so odd. But just as Music Simbol says, it sounds like a movie-star's kid's name, so it makes sense for Tim (who's going to follow the Show Business career).

Also, because "Poof" is the product of a male pregnancy (I kid you not, Cosmo got pregnant in the cartoon), I was almost tempted to get Tim abducted, but I've decided to let the alien plot rest for a while. It's time to focus on another supernatural creature!

Take care!
