"So... what about Minty? It kind of suits him..."




"What? That's not even a real name, Candence!"




"Well, excuuuuse me, Owen, but I don't think Night is a real name either, yet we all agreed on that one."




"It was Lucas who chose that name, Candence. After all, he was the one who found and rescued Night at the riverbed..."




"In that case, I should choose the new baby's name, 'cause I found him on the beach!"




"We know, Charlie, but... I don't think calling him Booger is a good idea."
"But he's the exact color of my boogers! Maybe he ate so many as a baby that he turned that co..."




"Ewwww! That's so gross! I'd rather be named Minty than Booger, hands down!"




"Well, I think that neither of them are good names for a baby... if that's what we should call it."
"Brekke..."
"I'm sorry, Miss Mahi, but I still think we should take it to the hospital... or the police. Just look at it! What if it's sick?"




Pumpkin knew that the baby wasn't sick, as well as the truth behind his odd skin colour. But in order to protect the continuity of time, he wasn't allowed to reveal that to his family, at least not yet.

And, of course, Pumpkin already knew the baby’s destined name.




He had learned it precisely from the green boy's lips it eight years before, during his first visit to the Island's future.




"I'm sorry, Pumpkin. I shouldn't be laughing at you. It's just...so funny that you are precisely asking my name, because it was you who chose it when I was a baby!"
"Uh, really?"
"Yup! My name is..."




"... Bunker."
"Did you say something, Pumpkin?"





"Yeah, what about Bunker?"
"Bunker... Hmmm... I kinda like it."
"It's different, just like the baby."




"Yeah, where did you get that, Pumpkin?"




"Well... let's just say it kinda rhymes with "Booger"."
"Ewwwwww!"
