maxis_taste Dare #2. Silly me assumed I could use Maxis townies instead of the PLAYABLE sims required for this challenge.
So, here I go again! :D
Just a warning, though, for this submission is related to the Broke Legacy. This is a HUGE teaser about what's coming up in a few updates, because it takes place twenty years after the tragic events at Takemizu Village. I was eager to try a few things I recently downloaded from MTS2 in order to include them in the storyline, hence this little story.
So, BEWARE TEH EVIL SPOILERS!!!! (Though if you haven't read the Legacy yet you are safe for now ;) ).
*Sigh*
Relax, kid. We're gonna get out of this mess, I promise!
After all, this isn't the first time these bastards have captured me!
Ha! No one has ever stopped Captain Ripp Grunt and his crew! ARRRR! They have no idea who are they messing with!
So, cheer up, Tom! There's nothing to worry about. I have a plan!
Oh Hell, No! I refuse to follow another of your fucking plans, Grunt! That's what got us in this shit in the first place!
Hey! That wasn't my fault, Mole! How could I ever imagine that Komelien would betray us?!
Komelien was part of your crew, Grunt! And that's precisely your problem! You are too... gullibly! The Commander was right, we shouldn't have let you take part in this mission!
Ha! As if! Smith has NO idea of who are all of you messing with! The Vlorgians are way more dangerous than they seem. Without my help and experience, you'd be already dead by now!
That's hard to believe, seeing how you've done nothing but get us into trouble since your arrival!
Tom barely listened to his friend's discussions, for his mind had way more important things to worry about than the old rivalry between the Graslaxian Army and his Uncle's Crew.
Like his wife's life.
They were running out of time.
Tom was sure that as soon as this spaceship landed in Vlorgia, it'd be impossible to save her...
"The intruders have been captured, General. Should I terminate them now?"
"No. I want to do that personally..."
"Is the human girl with you?"
"Affirmative."
"Is she safe?"
"Yes, Sir."
"What about her product?"
"In optimal conditions."
"Excellent! Our Pollination team will be pleased when they hear these news..."
No! He wouldn't let them harm her! He was stronger now! He had trained so hard to avenge his mother! He wouldn't make the same mistake twice!
He had to leave this cell!
And he had to do it NOW!
"Broke?"
"Tom?"
*POOF*
*Gasp!*
(What the...?!)
"WHOA!"
"That... that was amazing, kid! Where did you learn that move?!"
Tom smiled as his mind traveled back twenty years.- "Well..."
... I guess the legends were true, after all. This... this is my mother's last gift...
But this isn't the time to ponder.
Let's go!
Erin and my son are waiting for us...

Also, these sets and such are FANTASTIC!!! The amount of detail you must have gone thru is awe-inspiring!
And HA! You used Poof! Tee hee hee! Eagerly awaiting MORE!!!

Tom's wife is a pre-made Maxis character, as per the dare's rules. As Xel Squirgle said, Komelien is Pixel & Bean's (and Cosmo's OTL in her Asylum challenge).
I admit I didn't do much with the sets besides turning one of the spaceships' rooms into a cell (with the help of a fence). They were all downloaded from MTS2. I really appreciate all these amazing builders and their creations! They make my storytelling more fun to play (for me).
Hee, I just HAD to use the "Poof". About time Tom acted according to his namesake! :D. I almost added the words to the screen ala FOP, but I thought that would ruin the "seriousness" of the scene. I'd do it sooner or later, though (because this is the kind of silly stuff that amuses me why I play :P)

Date: 2008-08-26 02:37 am (UTC)Just a word of caution with the sci-fi sets: They include TONS of custom content (all the machinery and walls) so I suggest you to install them with the clean installer and put all that content in a separate folder, so you can take it out when you don't need it. My laptop is mad at me for that reason :P
Hee, Poofy Boy! I approve, since I was originally going to name him just "Poof" (but then I realized that was a pretty stupid name, so I left it as a nickname and named him Tom instead)
