The Broke Legacy: Wedding Portraits
Jun. 11th, 2008 09:01 pmI'm having a hard time getting back in the "right mood" to play my Legacy neighborhood.
Perhaps it's because of the tons of stress I'm dealing with (and they fluctuate every day, when are my job issues going to end?!), but I'm really not in the mood to play (the normal, "legacy" way).
I'm still making portraits to decorate the Broke house once I get back my "inspiration" to play with them. You may have noticed in my last entry that I didn't include the spouses (Lilith, Bella, etc.) in those pictures, and there's a very stupid and simple explanation for that: I forgot to include Lilith's template when I loaded my game that day.
So, to "make up" to their absence in the last "photoshoot", here are a few "Wedding portraits" I took today. I'm quite pleased with the way they came out, because I tried to keep them "in character" and to use other poses besides the normal Maxis ones I abuse all the time. I'm still not sure which of these pictures should be converted into "paintings" (I've just learned to recolor using SimPe's object workshop, so I'm eager to use a couple custom meshes I've always liked ^^), so I'll just post my fave ones for now.
Perhaps you could help me decide? ^___^
Generation 0: Brandi Broke

Generation 1: Dustin Broke and Angela Pleasant

Generation 1: Beau Broke and Lilith Pleasant

Generation 2: Cosmo Broke and Bella Goth

Generation 3: Wanda Broke and Puck Summerdream

Generation 4: Rose Mary Broke and Buck Grunt

Generation 4: Tim Broke and Marsha Bruening

- See you next time!

I think those are my fave pics because, unlike the other couples who got married because they were ready for it (and had careers or at least a stable job), Rosie and Buck were just a couple of kids. And she wasn't as happy as he was that day ^^ (plus the pregnancy thing).

Date: 2008-06-12 02:33 am (UTC)I love how Brandi's picture looks...older than every one elses. Very nicely done.
I also meant to ask if they all had your new default skintones in.

Yup, the were using the new default skintones. I have the circonflex "Fair" for S1, Rose for S2, Ruddy for S3 and Dark for S4. I wish "Fair" was more... rosy, but I like my set so far ^^

Date: 2008-06-12 03:34 am (UTC)Did you use Decorgal's hack for them, or was there another hack you used?

Date: 2008-06-12 08:13 pm (UTC)Let's see... I used Decorgal's hack (the modeling one from Mod The Sims 2) and the Photo Poses animation box from this site:

Another great source for modeling stuff is this collection at MTS2 (you need to download the hacks at their respective sites, but this link has all the info you need):

Date: 2008-06-12 02:33 pm (UTC)I love the one with Buck doing the "thumbs up." LOL! He looks like he's saying, "Look what I did!" to his preggo wife and she's like, "GAWD, Buck... " Hee!
The ones of Puck and Wanda are especially beautiful too.
Wonderful job on these!

Buck is very happy to be married (and having a baby) at 18 years old (he's a family sim), but his wife, on the other hand, is a bit mortified by that situation (she's a romance sim :D).

I'm using Circonflex skintones from Rensim. I made a default replacement set with the Fair skintone (V1) for S1, Rose (V2) for S2, Ruddy (V2) for S3 and Dark (V2) for S4. I love those skins because they still look cartoonish enough to me, so they don't clash with Lyran's eyes.
