Here'a another belated drabble for simstorytellers weekly challenge. There are no spoilers for any of my stories.

Challenge 002: Death

My soul perished that night.
Hurt by the harsh reality of his rejection,
the deep hatred burning behind his eyes,
and the crimson blood that permanently dyed my destiny.




I don't expect anyone to understand.
How it was his company what saved me from the shadows.
How I was brought back to life by the one who was supposed to take me away.
And how in order to survive, I've also become a messenger of Death.

For it’s his touch the sole thing my numb skin can feel.
Only his breath provides the air my lungs desperately need.
and it's his greatest gift, this hope growing inside of me,
the force that brings me back to the living world every day.

Well, keeping in mind that this particular character actually WOO HOOed with the Grim Reaper (and carried his baby), the comforting thing is not as odd as it seems. O_o

(This particular Maxis' backstory is veeeery creepy).

I never could figure out HOW grimpregnation was supposed to occur. My Grims always just take the dead sim and leave. :P

Olive's memories are very... interesting. Makes me wonder if she actually has romance as her second aspiration :P.

Yeah, that's one of the many details that Maxis left to our imagination, like the way sims are alien-impregnated.

I think you can "grimpregnate" a sim with Insim. But other than that, I don't think it's possible in normal game-play.

Hey, does the "Had Nervous" memory show up *after* she'd become an elder? It looks like it does in mine (unless I really can't count) but my strangetown's borked to heck and back.

I'm digging the drabbles! I think Cosmo's "blame" one is my favorite, but I love this one, too!

Very cool. How did you get The Grim Reaper to comfort her? Is he a download, or did you somehow make him controllable? That's a great photo.

That's actually a costume. I have an awesome hack from ModtheSims 2 that adds a "Change into" menu when you click on a sim (without needing an armoire).

You get options for all kinds of clothing (formal, swimming suit, etc.) plus another for "special clothing" that I've just discovered. It includes a "Grim Reaper" costume too!

So, the Grim Reaper in the picture is just a normal male sim in a costume :D.

The hack works perfectly with all EP's and SP's, despite not being updated anymore. It's the only one I didn't take out when I installed Free Time :P.

Yup, it is Olive. I also thought she had black hair but, according to this site with all the stats and info about the pre-made Maxis characters, she's supposed to have brown hair.

I really don't know if its true or not, though. When I aged Olive down, she became a red-head!

That's very cool, and would be very useful for my story. I remember seeing some Grim costumes, but they were never quite right.

I think Olive has black hair in some of the old Maxis backstory pics, though. I think I recall her having black hair in the photo of her being left at the altar (which is a part of the her backstory that I've mostly ignored in my story... for now, at least... we might hear more about it when her past gets "uncovered"). It might have been brown, or it might be another example of an earlier Maxis version that changed before the final game version.

I think extracted sims get a random hair colour when you age them down, from what I've heard. Madame_ugly aged back a clone of Mortimer Goth and he was a blond. I should check it out in my game. (Actually, now that I think about it, I'm sure that Olive had black hair in my game when I aged her down in CAS. Maybe that's what I think she has black hair.)

Did your version of Grim have his head sticking through the back of the cowl, though? I ran into this problem when I needed a controllable Grim way back when.

I ended up finding, on MTS2, a modified sim that worked perfectly. He's got a slightly caved in head so it doesn't stick out of the back of the cowl, and he's got a transparent skintone so his face isn't visible either. The onlyt hing you have to be careful of is that you'll have another sim wandering the neighborhood as Grim. When he goes shopping, it's a bit odd. :)

As far as I know, I've had no trouble with the Grim at all. No weird sticking heads or hands... unless you send him to woo hoo (which I did for my pictures), because then he'll "revert" back to his normal sim-self.

It works just as if I were controlling the real Grim ^^.

Hee Hee... a shopping Grim! That sounds pretty funny!

Wow! I wish I could write like you. I think that the Spector story line is really...weird. I just wish that there was some type of movie that showed Olivia's life. The memories just leave too much unanswered. I am really excited to see that particual family become involved in the Broke story. Hopefully soon! ;)
