*thumbs up* I agree with this comment, but I figured that (hopefully) the people who were making the recommendations knew what they were talking about.
Depending on the type of mask, they may not even help prevent the spread too much - some masks become essentially useless after a while as they create larger droplets due to the accumulation of fluid.
