Exactly. I figured it wouldn't make sense if Buck acted as if nothing had happened after learning such a horrible truth. His mother was murdered (indirectly?) by the man he loved as if he were his own grandfather. And as I mentioned above, he was partially raised by the Brokes (with the amount of time he spent there as a child) so it's a huge betrayal to him.
Deep inside he knows it's not Rose Mary's fault (Lyla was killed the night she was born), but he's aware he needs to come to terms with this situation first, even if it's far from her.
