Maxis Taste Dare 008
It's been a while since I last participated in one of these dares, but I wasn't able to finish my version of the Beaker's lot on time and I don't think I could handle another project like an asylum challenge at the moment.
So... it's makeover time! Again!
This time, we had to give a makeover to the Summerdream family from Veronaville (aka the elf/fairy family with a silly love for black lipstick and the most annoying house ever designed).
Because they are supposed to be fairies, I decided to follow that path for my entry. It took me a while to find the right custom content, and I actually had to spend an hour sorting through Saphire Sims, by far the most complicated sim site I've ever found (between the odd/random categories and the thousands of blinking pics on each creator's signatures, it is easy to get lost in there).
I also tried to keep their original genes intact (aka same skin, hair and eye colours) and I think I succeeded, expect in the case of Puck (but there's a reason for that as you'll soon see).
Anyway, here are the pictures:

Puck's is Enayla. It is a new one called "Pixie Cold" (and you can find it at Insim)
Titania's skin is also from Enayla. It's called Pixie Kisses.
Bottom's skin is from Astromeso at Garden Of Shadows. I can't remember exactly which skin, though... I think it's the one named Island.

Both are good options. If they are paintings, you won't have to wait until a sim with a high enough skill can paint a cusmtom picture. And if you use them as easel options, you can earn money and skill points.
Though I think you'll need to crop/resize the pictures for the easel options.

Originally, Oberon was going to be the winter fairy and viceversa, but I figured that Oberon wouldn't look like himself with a pale skin, blue eyes and white hair. Puck already has blue eyes, after all :P.

That secret made me LOL. You could have done it anyway, but never mind. He still looks great as Autumn, and it's a kind of reflection on him and Titania that they're more transition seasons instead of the proper winter vs summer :p
And now I'm totally going to make Puck hate Bottom because it's winter vs summer :D

It was annoying to get the wings, because most of them were part of a complete sim, so I had to download those to get just the wing recolor. Good thing I finally figured out how to use Clean Installer, so I avoided those extra files.

Out of curiosity, where are the flowers from in Titania's picture?

Let's see... the pink trees are a recolor of the Maple Tree by Windkeeper (TSR, it's the Blossom or Bloom set, can't remember the exact name right now).
The purple tulips (that also produce the cute butterflies) are from Solphel (TSR. Butterfly flowers or garden?).
A lot of the flowers are by Parsimonious (resplendent and eponymous garden sets) and they were already part of the lot. A few are from Macarossi at MTS2.
Finally, the tulips you see right next to Titania are by Sim_man123 (TSR).
