Finally, I also released a recolor/retexture of Hysterical Paroxysm's "Gaius Hair" (edited by Navetsea), requested by [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm. You can find them at Garden of Shadows:

I've been having some issues with the reds recently.

For some reason, the colors show up much brighter in Bodyshop... and then blindingly bright in the game! I like bright hair, but that's ridiculous :).

I had to re-do the red for the very last hair twice for this reason. I wish Bodyshop lighting was more accurate, because this is annoying!

Oh, how do you fix the hairs without Bodyshop? Do you export, edit and then re-import the textures with SimPe? I've thought about trying that to fix some hairs, but I didn't think that actually worked :).

That's exactly it -- extract to PNG with SimPE, edit, and then Build DXT to put the edited textures back in. It is very useful, I have downloaded a huge pile of Maxis-match retextures from Piggi's, and I didn't like either of her two blond shades (and neither matched Maxis, unlike her other colors), but she puts her grey recolor in one of them, so I was motivated to find a solution that used her original file. ;) (The two disliked textures turned out to easily combine to make one I liked!)

Bodyshop lights.

If you want it, there's a bodyshop light mod that makes it brighter.

There's three files, each have a different level of brightness. I personally use the xxb.
